Arsenal will have to shell out a cool €15 million (£13 million) if they are to land Fenerbahce centre-half Simon Kjaer, according to Fotomac.
The Gunners are facing something of a race against time to land a new defender before the transfer window closes, with Per Mertesacker and Gabriel Paulista on the sidelines through injury currently.
Rob Holding and Calum Chambers struggled to live with the Liverpool attack as Arsenal were beaten 4-3 at home in their Premier League opener and it is clear to see that the Emirates Stadium side could use an extra option at the core of their rearguard.
Although Valencia star Shkodran Mustafi is said to be Arsene Wenger’s preferred choice and number one target, Kjaer has been listed as a possible alternative if a deal for the German enforcer cannot be done.
Fenerbahce are believed to want to hold onto the Dane and will hold Arsenal to ransom if they are forced to part with their prize asset.
