Real Madrid star midfielder James Rodriguez is not interested in a move to England will stay and fight for a place in Zinedine Zidane’s starting XI this season, according to Sport.

The Colombia international has fallen down the pecking order in the Spanish capital and as such was being touted with a switch to the Premier League, with Arsenal one of the teams most commonly linked with the South American.

Rodriguez was a substitute in Madrid’s opening fixture of the new La Liga season and also has the likes of Luka Modric and Toni Kroos ahead of him in the selection battle.

A big-money switch to an English club was being touted as happening before the end of this month, in what would be a real statement of intent by Arsenal if they won the race for his signature.

However, the latest report suggests that the Gunners will have to look for other attacking targets amid Rodriguez’s intent to stay at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu and fight for recognition.
