Arsenal have not yet made an offer for reported target Riyad Mahrez according to Sky Sports, with the North London outfit’s chances of landing the Leicester City star seemingly fading away.

The Algerian winger was crowned the PFA Player of the Year in the Foxes’ momentous Premier League title success and has been linked with the Gunners all summer long.

Contrasting reports have stated that Arsenal’s negotiations over landing the African attacker have been at various stages of negotiation, with the Emirates Stadium outfit believed to be working on a deal to bring Mahrez to the club.

However, the latest news will come as a disappointment to Gunners fans, with Arsene Wenger having not even made an opening offer for the forward.

To add insult to the claim, reputable source The Guardian have today stated that Mahrez has held negotiations with Leicester and agreed, potentially somewhat begrudgingly, to stay at the King Power Stadium for the 2016-17 campaign.
