Arsenal have broadened their search for a new centre-half and are said to be considering moves for Premier League pair Scott Dann and Federico Fernandez, according to The Daily Mail.
The Gunners are in the market for a new central defender after injury to Per Mertesacker, with Arsene Wenger facing the prospect of not having any experienced players in the position available for the Premier League opener against Liverpool later this month.
Dann has impressed over recent seasons for Crystal Palace and continues to be an under-rated and solid defender for the London club.
Despite reported interest in Ashley Williams, team-mate Fernandez is an Argentina international and would also offer plenty of experience at the highest level should he move to the Emirates Stadium.
It remains to be seen whether Wenger will look to bring in a new defender on a permanent deal or opt for a loan switch until Mertesacker and his other options are available to feature.
