Arsenal linked playmaker Arda Turan will not look to leave Barcelona this summer and instead prefers to stay at Camp Nou and fight for a place in the starting XI, according to his agent.
The Turkey international moved to the Catalan giants last summer but struggled to hold down a consistent place in Luis Enrique’s star-studded side.
As such, talk in the press has linked Turan with a move to England, with Arsenal believed to one of the clubs most actively pursuing the former Atletico Madrid star.
However, despite speculation in the media, the Turkish star’s representative has poured cold water on talk of a transfer.
“The interest [in Arda] is normal but the rumours saying he is leaving Barcelona are false, he is happy at the club,” Ahmet Bulut told The Guardian.
Arsenal have a wealth of talent in attacking midfield, with the likes of Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez providing creativity and penetration in the final third.
Turan has proven himself as a top-class operator but it remains to be seen just where he would fit into Arsene Wenger’s team if a move did eventuate.
