Arsenal have ended their interest in Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette according to Get Football News France, with Arsene Wenger unwilling to pay the centre forward’s reported £42 million transfer fee.

The Gunners are again being linked with a move to bolster their options in the final third, with competition for Olivier Giroud seen as a priority.

A move for Jamie Vardy has fallen away and as such Lacazette was seen as a potential alternative.

The France international has been freescoring for the Ligue 1 club in recent seasons and as sun is being rumoured with a move overseas to a big European club.

West Ham are said to have had a bid in excess of £30 million rejected by Lyon, who are holding out for a figure close to £42 million.

As such, the Gunners are ready to look at other targets, with Wenger deciding that the figure is too much for the North London club to pay.
