Italian football journalist Emanuele Giulianelli has stated that Arsenal are preparing a big bid for a new striker target in the near future and that they have ceased their interest in Brazilian prodigy Gabriel Barbosa.
The Gunners currently have Olivier Giroud leading the line but are expected to bolster Arsene Wenger’s options in the final third before the current transfer window closes.
Arsenal have been linked with the likes of Gonzalo Higuain, Alexandre Lacazette and Mauro Icardi in recent weeks, but Giulianelli has stated that a new target, valued at £50 million, has been ascertained.
Arsenal staff had a transfer meeting today & are plotting a big name striker move. Not Higuain/Lacazette/Icardi though.

Meanwhile, Giulianelli has also stated that the North London side were also in the hunt for gifted Brazilian youngster Barbosa.
The gifted attacker has been linked with a host of European clubs, but won’t be heading to Arsenal according to the journalist.
