Leicester City attacker Riyad Mahrez will stay with the Premier League champions this summer, despite reported interest from Arsenal, Claudio Ranieri claims.
The Algerian star had an amazing 2015-16 campaign, with his goals and assists playing a major role in the King Power Stadium outfit winning a momentous Premier League crown.
However, reports in the press have stated that Mahrez is eyeing a move elsewhere and could well be tempted to leave the Foxes if a major European club came knocking.
Arsenal failed earlier this summer in a bid to land Jamie Vardy from Leicester, but talk in the media has stated that the Gunners have now turned their attention to his attacking team-mate.
Despite all the furore and speculation, Ranieri has stated that Mahrez will not be leaving the club this summer and is happy to be with the champions.
“I think everybody here are happy and then, it’s finished. The market is finished,” he told Sky Sports News.
“Yes, he (Mahrez) wants to stay.”
Mahrez would be an exciting new face for Arsenal, but the Gunners are believed to have competition from Chelsea and Barcelona for the African’s signature.
