Reports are suggesting Arsenal are monitoring the movements of Daley Blind, with Jose Mourinho unsure over the Dutchman’s future at Manchester United.

The 26-year-old utility player has admitted in the Daily Mirror that he is uncertain over his future at Old Trafford following the appointment of Mourinho, who will look to reshape the squad this summer.

Blind signed for United from Ajax two years ago for £16 million and played the majority of last season at centre-back.

However, Mourinho believes the Holland international is too small to play in the heart of the defence, which has led to speculation over his future at the club.

Arsene Wenger is reportedly looking to bolster and strengthen his defensive department this summer after it came into criticism once again last season.

It now appears the Frenchman will be keeping tabs on Blind and consider making a move for him should Mourinho not want him at United.

This transfer rumour will certainly have the Emirates faithful talking, with some fans in favour of it happening, while others will not want it to ensue. Personally, Blind’s versatility would be useful, but I believe there are better options out there as well as in the current squad.

In any case, the real stumbling block for this potential move actually taking place is that of Mourinho’s and Wenger’s fragile working relationship. It’s no secret that the two do not see eye-to-eye and have clashed many of times in the past, and it is for this reason alone why I cannot see this transfer occurring.
