Should Wenger answer his call?

Alexandre LacazetteGood news Arsenal fans – Alexandre Lacazette is now ready for a move to the Premier League.

The 24-year-old was heavily linked with a move away from Lyon over the summer after netting 31 goals for the French club last season, with Arsenal reportedly keen on his services.

However, despite all the speculation and links over the summer, the striker decided to stay put at his boyhood club and signed a new one-year extension, keeping him at the Stade Gerland until 2019.

And although he wasn’t ready to make a move to the Premier League, Lacazette now appears ready for a change of scenery, with a transfer to England on the cards:

‘I was not ready to leave two years ago or even last season.

‘I was not ready then and my goal is not to go to England for the sake of going to England and I don’t want to go to a club and sit on the bench.’

‘So at that time it was not hard for me to stay here. It was a question of waiting until I was ready and I am now ready this summer.’

So with news of his readiness to come to the Premier League, should Arsenal reignite their interest in the France international at the end of the season?

Last summer, Lyon slapped a £35-42 million asking-price for his services to and off interest, and it worked. And with the player signing an extra year on top his current deal in August, his price-tag would have shot up a lot more, that’s for sure – possibly to just under £48 million. Should this be the price-tag set, then I would urge Arsenal to stay well clear, because he is not worth that from what I’ve seen of him this season.

He does look a good option for us this summer and certainly has a piercing eye for goal. But I wonder whether he would struggle to adapt to the Premier League and for the money they potentially want for him, it would be a massive gamble to take.

Wenger will know if he is good enough for the Premier League and for Arsenal, so it will be interesting to see whether or not he makes a move for Lacazette this summer.

I won’t be surprised if we get a more reputed striker from Bundesliga (not Abumeyang) join Arsenal coming summer.

what is being said in france is that lacazette has been ready to move to england for a while now but hasn,t received any bids from british teams of the calibre he thinks he deserves like a top 4 or even a top 10 team!!!

Where did 48m come from? As far as ive seen, rumour has it Lyon have been listening to offers around the 22-28m mark?! Don’t think they’d bother taking the piss at near 50m
