Joel CampbellJoel Campbell has hinted of his uncertainty over his future at Arsenal.

The Costa Rica international has recently been re-linked with a move to Galatasaray this month and could find himself warming the bench once again when Alexis Sanchez and Danny Welbeck return from their injuries.

The 23-year-old’s contract is set to expire at the end of the season and has admitted that his future at Arsenal is in limbo.

The forward told the club’s official website:

‘I’m trying to give my best for the team and taking my opportunities. Thank God things are going well.

‘It can change from one day to the following one. You’re here today but you do not know where you are tomorrow.

‘Today, you are in the starting line-up and tomorrow you are on the bench. Football is about moments and you have to take them.’

Since his arrival from Deportivo Saprissa in 2011, Campbell has struggled to cement a regular spot in Arsene Wenger’s side, which saw him being loaned out for the majority of his time at the club.

In the second-half of last season, Campbell moved to Villarreal on loan until the end of the campaign, but Wenger decided against the idea this term.

Wenger is a keen admirer of Campbell but the Frenchman cannot guarantee him first-team football when he has a fully fit squad available.

Campbell has done extremely well in the absence of Sanchez, with fans warming to the player. But with no signs of a contract extension and his deal set to expire at the end of the season, Campbell’s future has once again been plunged into uncertainty. If Wenger can’t guarantee him regular first-team football at the Emirates, then it’s in his, and Campbell’s, best interest to part ways.
