Andy NajarArsene Wenger is hoping to make Andy Najar his second January signing, according to the Daily Express.

Arsenal are on the verge of snapping up Basel midfielder Mohamed Elneny for a reported £7.4 million, and are now looking to recruit Honduras winger Najar to bolster his squad ahead of the second-half of the season.

Wenger has stated that he will be ‘busy’ this January and has also claimed he could do with new faces coming in next month.

The Express has suggested the Frenchman is now eyeing up a move for Najar, who currently plies his trade with Anderlecht.

It is believed the Honduras wide-man caught the eye of Arsenal representatives with his performances against Spurs in the Europa League this season.

But the Gunners will face competition from Fiorentina for the 22-year-old’ signature, with the Italian side said to be in pole position.

Najar signed for Anderlecht in January 2013, initially on loan, before completing a permanent move to the Belgian side later that month.

Najar, who can play anywhere along the right flank, has made a total of 24 appearances for Anderlecht so far this season, scoring three and creating one goal.

The former DC United player has two-and-a-half years left with Anderlecht and is valued by Transfermarkt at around £3.15 million, but could cost up to double his current valuation.
