Mathieu DebuchyArsene Wenger has admitted that Mathieu Debuchy could leave Arsenal during the January transfer window.

The 30-year-old French right-back is behind Hector Bellerin in the pecking order at Arsenal, and with Euro 2016 only but a few months away, Debuchy is desperate to get some game time to force his way into Didier Deschamps’ plans next summer.

But it appears unlikely that Wenger will be able to grant Debuchy what he wants, thus the Frenchman has now conceded that the former Newcastle full-back could leave the club when the winter window opens.

When asked about Debuchy’s potential departure, Wenger said:

‘It’s not impossible.

‘I’m happy if he stays. We’ll see.’

Debuchy is out-of-favour with Wenger – his two Premier League starts clearly suggests this – and a move away for the right-back would certainly benefit his chances of making the France squad this upcoming summer.

Wenger will not lose any sleep should Debuchy decide to leave in the upcoming month as he already has Callum Chambers as a back-up to Bellerin.
