Arsenal can sign Barcelona youngster Sergi Samper for £4.4 million.
The Gunners are expected to complete a £7.4 million deal for Basel and Egyptian midfielder Mohamed Elneny in the upcoming transfer window, but Arsene Wenger is keen to add further.
Francis Coquelin, Jack Wilshere and Santi Cazorla are all believed to be back from their respective injuries sometime in February and Wenger sees Samper as a someone who can fill their boots.
Spanish publication Mundo Deportivo, as reported by the Daily Express, claim Barcelona are ready to let the 20-year-old leave if their £4.4 million asking price is met.
The Gunners do have a history of poaching young talent from Barca, with Cesc Fabregas and Hector Bellerin both making the grade at the Emirates at one time or another.
Samper is a close friend of Bellerin, who could be used to persuade the Barcelona youngster to join him at Arsenal this January.
