Arsenal youngster Alex Iwobi has signed a new long-term contract.
The 19-year-old winger, who is the nephew of Jay Jay Okocha, caught the eye of the Arsenal faithful during pre-season, scoring a memorable goal against Lyon in the Emirates Cup back in July.
Iwobi had been linked with a loan move away from the Emirates but Arsene Wenger was against it as he wants to keep him around the first-team squad.
The Lagos-born forward netted nine goals for the Under-21 squad in the final nine games of last season and has now ensured his long-term future remains at Arsenal after putting pen to paper on a new deal.
Iwobi has yet to feature for the first-team but it is highly likely that Wenger will give him several opportunities to shine during the current campaign in the minor cup competitions and possibly even in the Premier League at some point.
