Will his stubbornness be his downfall?

ClickWengerThe Daily Mirror claims Arsenal are interested in signing Karim Benzema this summer, but are unwilling to meet Real Madrid’s asking price for the France international.

The need to sign a striker this summer came into question once again following Arsenal’s 2-0 home defeat to West Ham.

Benzema, 28, has been heavily linked with a move to the Emirates, with Wenger believed to be keen on the French striker.

However, having watched his been outwitted by West Ham on Sunday afternoon, Wenger is unlikely to react by splashing the cash, and it is thought he is unwilling to meet Real’s asking price for Benzema.

It’s claimed Wenger will not be panicked into making signings, even though the fans are desperately urging the Frenchman to bring in Benzema to turn the Gunners into serious title contenders this season.

Real are understood to want upward of £40 million for the French striker, but Wenger will attempt to get Benzema at a cheaper price – if he even decides to make a move for him.

Why Wenger is hesitating to bring in Benzema, I don’t know, but what I do know is that if the manager fails to get this deal done because he didn’t want to part with a few million, the Emirates faithful will not be happy!

Wenger’s shrewdness could once again prove to be Arsenal’s downfall this season – hopefully, he sees sense before the transfer window closes at the end of the month.

Stupidly stubborn Mr Wenger … Albert Einstein describe such people thus : “He who does the same thing year in year out and expect different result is INSANE ” Wenger messes about during transfer windows every year and expect to win the Premier league ! The man is stupidly insane !!! WHAT CAN SUDDENLY TRANSFORM AN AVERAGE GIROUD LAST SEASON TO A SUPERSTAR THIS SEASON ? WHAT HAS CHANGED IN THE 28 YEAR OLD MAN ? That is why there are transfers …… to help teams to plan better !!

Whether Arsene Wenger is Stubborn or not , he is a manager who stuck in the past. Wenger always talks and deals with issues that are not his concern. As a well known manger Wenger is made by the Media. The Media always highlights Wenger’s achievements of Building the Emirates Stadium and modern training facilities and introducing new diets for the players. Well and good Wenger has asked Arsenal management these are important things for Arsenal to devolop. Has Wenger been the Architect or the Contractor to build the Stadium or is he specialist in diets there are people who are doing things behind the scenes . Wenger was payed 8 million pounds a year as a football manager and he failed during two decades to build a balanced wining squad of footballs and failed for ten years to win a trophy. Wenger had signed more than 50 hopeless cheap players who were good for nothing and Arsenal suffered on how to get rid of some of them. Wnger refused to sign ones who became among the top ten world class players among them even Ronald and Messie because he was reluctant the prices that were trebled in few years of their signing by other clubs. Simply Wenger is not good enough to mange Arsenal at this stage of their development. The whole world were expecting him to sign four world class players this transfer window and especially a goal scoring machine striker , a defensive midfielder and a central defender and despite members of Arsenal board declared that there are more than 200 million pounds available to him to sign the best players available , he is still dragging his feet in the transfer market losing the first match against South Hampton was the clearest indication that he is specialist in failure and has to go immediately .

Wenger and board know what they are doing, they don’t want spend money to buy experience players. All what they want is profit not a trophies. All the fans we should take hearts for the board and Wenger’s decision on transfer speculations.

Tony – the problem here is that Wenger does not negotiate transfers. He submits names of players to Arsenal Football Club, who then have dozens of full-time employees who do transfers. The top negotiator for AFC is Mr. Law.

This is similar to players having agents who negotiate. It is the agent who says “he cannot possibly sign for less than 100k per week”. Similarly, it is Mr Law who says “we cannot possibly offer more than 35 million”.

You get this same silliness from people who post “Why is it that Mr. Cameron cannot fix the hole in the road here” as if the PM (or Obama or Bush) actually personally oversees every job done by the thousands of government employees.

Please note that bidding higher does not insure that you sign the player. Research “Higuain” where Arsenal actually came to an agreement with the selling club – only to be later outbid. That may be the reason for the August 31st deals – one cannot then be outbid by another club.

By the way, when you say “Real are understood to want upward of £40 million for the French striker, but Wenger will attempt to get Benzema at a cheaper price.” you are just getting that from web sites that invent stuff to write. Real have never said that.

Note other web sites have said “Benzema has flown to London for a medical, deal done”. But you do not accept their stories, so why do you accept the ” Real want more than Arsenal will pay” stories ?

At the moment we only luck a CF,DMF and a MANAGER…phew

Wenger said when the exceptional player becomes available he wil sign, Real should first find a replacement for Benzema to let him go, its not so easy as buying a hotdog, the coming player shld be able to fit in and adjust to our play.

Tony, Wenger is past being vulnerable for a “Downfall” – He has been there 19 years – long since past the time when he couldand probably should have been fired. He is as stubborn as an ox. (No pun) Giroud is not a world class CF, but Walcott is a disaster up there – better play Giroud. Giroud is a typical Stoke type player. Rush and kick. My main concern is Ramsey – he is a shadow of himself when playing on the right. If we need a right hand man – leave Ramsey on the bench and use Walcott. Walcott will never make a CF as long as he has a hole in his ???Nose???. Has not the technique needed as a CF you can not simply blast at goal. One has sometimes to lift the ball over the top etc.
We have our own little Messi… The Ox, give him a year at some club as a CF and he will break all Arsenal scoring records. Walcott can’t hold a candle to the Ox.
And so the stubborn persistence of wasting real talent in the wrong places will yet again be the downfall of Arsenal this season. If we do not sign a good DMF and a world class striker we shall finish 5th (Hopefully) the following teams will be above us.Chelsea Liverpool MC MU.
(Was wondering if P. Chec is still on the Chelsea payroll – he is helping them stay above Arsenal in the league?)
