Arsenal are being linked with a number of strikers this summer, as Arsene Wenger looks to strengthen his side ahead of next season’s campaign.
The three forwards that Arsenal are reportedly eyeing up and keep making the headlines are Karim Benzema of Real Madrid, Porto’s Jackson Martinez and Napoli striker Gonzalo Higuain, with the trio all said to be available this summer.
But out of the three strikers mentioned, which one would you like to see Wenger bring to the Emirates?
Well if you haven’t an answer yet, here is a look at the trio and their current positions at their respective clubs.
Higuain:
The 27-year-old is thought to want Champions League football next season after Napoli failed to qualify for the top European competition.
Arsenal were keen on the Argentine before he joined the Italian side in 2013, where he has become their focal point in attack. In his two seasons at the club, Higuain has so far made 88 appearances in all competitions, scoring 51 goals and also contributing 21 assists along the way – impressive stats to say the least.
Arsenal supposedly tabled an opening offer of £29.4 million for the Argentina international, but Napoli want at least £36.4 million for their star striker.
Arsene Wenger has splashed this amount of cash in the past couple of seasons on Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez, and if he wants to give Olivier Giroud a run for his money upfront, then Higuain would certainly do that. He is a proven and prolific goalscorer, something many Arsenal fans believe we currently lack.
Martinez:
If goals is what Wenger wants to add to his side, then Martinez is the man for him. The Colombian is recognised as one of Europe’s finest strikers, netting a sensational 84 goals in 109 total apps for Porto since joining the Portuguese side three years ago.
However, unlike Higuain or Benzema, Martinez is strictly a poacher, a fox-in-the-box, a striker who is paid to be in the right place at the right time. He knows where the goals in but finds it hard to track back or make assists. His movement isn’t the best either, which is what you need if you want to succeed in the Premier League.
I prefer martinez or benzema not higuan at all,martinez is a good strike and he no how to score and he can also dribble as well,for benzima he always lose a chance but sometime he use to try!!
Very well written article. However for me, out of the three it is only Benzema I would like. What you have said about Martinez is absolutely spot on. Higuain is also another player who excels in the box but nowhere else. He is not particularly pacy nor does he have the kind of skill that typifies a Luis Suarez or Benzema.
My 3 dream strikers for arsenal would be one of Benzema, Cavani or Lewandowski.
I actually prefer Matinez to the rest of the pick. Martinez is stronger and faster. With the midfielders at our disposal am sure he will score more than thirty goals in a season. We should not forget that Christiano Ronaldo came from Portugal to the Premiership and he proved his mettle.

Benz and Higuain are both over priced because of RM…
Only draw back is his age…he won’t have a resale value…but Benz and Higuain are only a year younger!..
I prefer martinez to join arsenal,becouse is good sriker that arsenal want to play at right side and he can attack and dribble, but benzema also lose are chance

I would go for all three that would be a threat to any defense but whoever it is Wenger needs to get someone
Among three strikers I would want whenever to sign Benzema or Jackson this two strikers can give the club the premier league cup we need and also do well champion league next year
For me martines is the best and the youngest of them all.
Without a doubt it has to be Martinez he is the most ruthless of the three and he plays more games with only R7 & Messi scoring more than this mean machine. If he wear an Arsenal shirt next season with the team we hv u can bet the EPL title perhaps even the CL is coming to the Emirates.
