Raheem Sterling’s future at Liverpool is still up in the air and is set to be one of this summer’s biggest transfer sagas, with a move to Arsenal still a possibility.
However, former Gunner Ray Parlour has urged Arsene Wenger and co. NOT to sign the 20-year-old and focus on improving other areas of the squad this summer.
Sterling is viewed as one of the Premier League’s best players and is supposedly being chased by the likes of Manchester City and Bayern Munich.
But Parlour believes signing the Liverpool forward is not a priority of Arsenal’s, and reckons Wenger should concentrate on strengthening the back-line and midfield area this summer instead:
‘I’d rather concentrate on central midfield, centre-back and maybe a goalkeeper if I was manager.
‘I always look down the spine of the team, which is so important. Look at Chelsea: Terry, Cahill, Fabregas, Matic, Costa. If you’re going to win leagues you’ve got to have that base.
‘Raheem Sterling, as a 20-year-old – people are always looking at potential and how good could he be. But you couldn’t have Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Theo Walcott and Sterling – I don’t think that would work.’
A number of Arsenal fans would love to see Sterling at the Emirates next season, but I think Parour is right – there are other areas like the defence and midfield that need improving. In addition, we already have Oxlade-Chamberlain, Walcott (if he stays) and even Serge Gnabry who I believe are better than Sterling, so why should Wenger bother shelling out the majority of his transfer kitty this summer on the Liverpool winger?
please arsene ,first sign central midfilder and the one player fit the bill is full energetic player is swansea city player Kim he wear number 4 shirt. then a striker who nows the box well . we don’t need any strengthen in other areas we are oready have mature and experianced squad.

break the bank for a world class center half, a leader of men a world class goalkeeper amd a defensive central midfielder.
