Antonio SanabriaAntonio Sanabria is set to leave Roma this month, which could see Arsene Wenger re-ignite his interest in the 18-year-old.

The teenage forward turned down a move to Arsenal last January when he left Barcelona, opting to sign for Sassuolo instead.

However, after just six months at the I Neroverdi and two sub appearances, the Paraguayan joined Roma, where he features for the Under-19 side.

But reports are now claiming that after Sanabria returns from the South American Youth Football Championship – which ends on February 7th – he is set for yet another switch.

Deportivo La Coruna are supposedly keen on the Sanabria and want to sign him on loan, a year after it was reported that Wenger was prepared to activate the striker’s £2.5 million release clause, which could have risen to £4.5 million.

Sanabria has been named as an unused sub 11 times for Roma in the Serie A so far, and it is thought he is willing to leave the Italian side in search of more first-team opportunities.

It remains to be seen whether Wenger will rekindle his interest in the youngster, as the Frenchman has other areas of the squad he needs to address before even thinking about signing another striker.

But if Wenger was keen on Sanabria this time last year, then there is no better time to land the Paraguay international.
