Arsenal are ready to offer Atletico Madrid £26 million for Mario Mandzukic before the transfer deadline day.
The 28-year-old Croat made the move to Spain from Bayern Munich last summer but the arrival of Fernando Torres has seen the striker drop down the pecking order at the Vicente Calderon.
Reports in Spain, as claimed by the Daily Express, no suggest Diego Simeone could look to offload Mandzukic to either Arsenal or Manchester City before the transfer window closes.
Arsenal have been linked with a move in the Croatia international in the past and with Arsene Wenger already bringing in two new players, the Frenchman could rekindle his interest in Mandzukic as he continues to strengthen his squad.
It remains to be seen whether Arsenal will table a bid for the Atletico forward, but the Gunners have the upper hand on City as they could offer him more first-team opportunities than at the Etihad. In addition, it is uncertain whether £26 million would be enough for Atletico to sell a player they purchased last summer for just over £19 million.

Mandzukic is a very good striker who could flourish at Arsenal. He will be a welcome addition if we can get him. The price of 26 million pounds? I say he is worth it as he is in his prime at 28 years of age.

arsenal dont need any striker because they have german tallent nabry and english kid akpom at the waiting bench…
Koushik gnabry is a winger and akpom is nowhere near the arsenal level yet.mandzukic would be a great addition but not so sure about the 26 mil price tag.ur mad if you would prefer to risk akpom rather than mandzukic.eitherway im sure this is just a load of bollox but we shall see.thomas muller makes more sense to me.can also play on the wing or up front.COYG!!!!
