Mathematically? Yes. Realistically? No way

Mesut OzilWell here is a statement that will have Arsenal fans scratching their heads and laughing off – Mesut Ozil believes the Gunners can still win the Premier Leafue title, despite being 13 points behind table toppers Chelsea.

The German maestro made his first appearance of the season in Sunday’s 3-0 win over Stoke after successfully recovering from a long-term knee injury.

The Gunners’ latest win sees them now occupy fifth spot in the Premier League table – 13 points behind Chelsea. But Ozil believes the side has what it takes to launch a serious title challenge following a convincing win over Stoke.

Quoted in the Daily Mirror, the 26-year-old said:

‘We have a really strong team. People could see that once again against Stoke.

‘So I don’t see why we shouldn’t finish right at the very top of the table. When you play football you should always have belief in yourself.’

Can Arsenal still win the Premier League title? Mathematically, yes. It can still be done. Will they is another matter.

It’s great to see that the players haven’t given up hope and believe in themselves, but winning the title is something we won’t see this season. 13 points is a huge gap. Chelsea have to lose five games, while Arsenal have to continue picking up three points, week in, week out. The fact is, we are not consistent enough and drop stupid points against the lesser sides away from home, and our record against the big boys is extremely poor as well. Even if Arsene Wenger strengthens the squad this month it won’t be enough to mount a title challenge. We just don’t have enough about us to topple the likes of Manchester City and Chelsea at the moment.

It is not possible for Arsenal to meet Chelsea and Manchester city again in this session,,because 13 points is not a small gap,,and chelsea cannot lose 5 games at the same time so I don’t think its possible

If Arsenal will start to take advantage of any dropped points by Chelsea, Man City, Southampton, Man United and Liverpool whenever they dropped points and win their very next game and also beat Man city, Everton, Chelsea, Tottenham, Man utd and Liverpool (18pts) in this 2nd round of the season. The improbable will become probably. Yes! Why not? Arsenal can be champions. I am not a spam. I am an Arsenal digital member. Type my name on twitter @SamuelAA to know more about me.
