Alexandre LacazetteTo the disappointment of Arsenal, Alexandre Lacazette is happy in France and wants to stay at Lyon.

The 23-year-old forward has been in superb form for Lyon so far this season, finding the back of the net 14 times in 17 Ligue 1 appearances.

Lacazette’s goals have helped fire Lyon into third place in the Ligue 1 and has reportedly attracted the interest of several clubs around Europe, including Arsenal.

The Gunners were said to be tracking the Frenchman over the summer and given Lyon’s financial troubles, there was some hope of signing him when the January transfer window opens.

However, Lacazette has rubbished rumours of him leaving the Stade de Gerland anytime soon after revealing he is happy in France:

‘For my part I have not expressed a desire to leave. It seems obvious to me to stay and continue with this project.’

Although a few Arsenal fans would like to see another forward join over January, many believe it’s the side’s defence that needs strengthening after their defensive frailties were exposed once again on Saturday afternoon.
