battle Chelsea for PSG wonderkid

|

Adrien RabiotArsene Wenger is always looking to snap up the next big talent or wonderkid. In the last January transfer window we were repeatedly linked with a move for Julian Draxler, but our pursuit was unsuccessful with Schalke claiming Arsenal weren’t prepared to math what the Bundesliga club were asking for. Wenger must now wait until the end of the season if he wants to bring the young German to the Emirates.

However, Wenger will no doubt seek out other hot prospects to bring to the club and has set his sights on Adrien Rabiot, according to reports in France.

French newspaper Le10Sport suggest the Gunners are interested in the 18-year-old Paris Saint-Germain midfielder, even though Chelsea are believed to be in pole position for the youngster’s signature.

Rabiot, who has made 28 appearances (12 as a starter) for PSG so far this season, is said to have rejected a new contract to stay with the Ligue 1 club – which he joined in 2010 – due to a disagreement involving wages.

Chelsea are ready to give the France Under-21 international what he wants and willing to pay £8 million to PSG for their starlet.

But Arsenal are now considering a swoop for Rabiot and although he wouldn’t be viewed as a regular for the side, the chance to develop and work under Arsene Wenger may tempt the young French midfielder to join the Gunners over Chelsea.

We’ll have to wait and see what transpires from now until the end of the season and during the summer.
