Why do they still doubt us?

wenger 40824 Premier League matches down and we currently sit atop of the pile by two clear points after recording 17 wins, four draws and three losses to date. Yet many football experts, TV pundits and even the bookies don’t believe we have what it takes to lift the league title come mid-May.

Before the season began, I recall Arsenal being priced at 14/1 by several of the top bookies nationwide. As the season went on the odds slightly dropped as our side were playing some silky football and picking up some great results along the way.

But despite leading the pack several times during the season, we were still being doubted by many that we will actually go all the way.

We only have 14 Premier League fixtures left to go and even though we are ahead of hot favourites Manchester City and Chelsea by two clear points, the media and popular bookies – which currently have us at third favourites to win the title at 9/2 – still think we will fall short.

But why, after such an impressive season thus far, doesn’t anyone take us seriously?

Regardless of whether we signed the likes of Julian Draxler, Diego Costa or Jackson Martinez during the January transfer window, a lot of people out there would have still doubted us winning the Premier League title. Is it because Arsene Wenger has lost his winning mentality? Or is it because we haven’t got a strong enough squad to last the distance? Only those who question our title credentials can answer this to be honest, because I don’t see any reason why we can’t defy the odds this season.

Many will like the fact that we flying under the radar or not being considered as favourites, but it makes you wonder what we have to do to be recognized.

I really, really, really hope Wenger and the lads can last the distance, lift the Premier League title, or any piece of silverware for that matter, just to prove the cynics wrong and shut them up once and for all.

well statistically base on the squard Man city and Chelsea has, the fighting spirit, the urge to score and win matches, every one can give the title to any of the two. Arsenal has done quite well this season but still have a long way to go to really lift the title this season. the question is this, can they withstand the presure of man city, chelsea, liverpool, everton, Toteham and man utd in the remaining 14 league match left? that is 18 good points here hmmmmmm against the big 6.

You are just repeating what the media ‘experts’ are saying, you know the same experts who said we wouldn’t get in the top four at the start of the season. At the halfway point of the season when all teams had played each other once we were top so your ‘can we stand the pressure of Man City……..’ is nonsense. I didn’t see Chelsea handling the pressure very well last weekend against West Ham. I didn’t see Man City show much fighting spirit last night against Chelsea. Arsenal are the most consistent and have the best record against the lower teams, it is who gets the most points at the end of the season, not who you have got them against.

The thing is with Arsenal is they don’t have the mental strength or winning mentality against the bigger teams. I’m sure they go into these games thinking they are going to lose and they’ve been like this for a few seasons now ! I would love to be proved wrong and hopefully in the near future I wil be ! COYG !

Arsenal is good club with impressive snake pass game, it attract many people to the gunners match regardless of level team is going to met!! But the problem of the squard is that no hard fighting and forceful striker. This make them to loose against large teams with hot strikers.
The manager should beer this in mind……! Giruu is a lazzy striker to fight for last chance
    .

    • iddiot says:

@ iddy, Giroud is a lazy striker? You either don’t know anything about football or you’re very stupid. I haven’t seen an Arsenal striker work so hard for the team in a long time, so shut the phuq up, chicken rapist.

Dude, go learn English, so many misspelt words! And Ollie is a fighter! Far from lazy! Just not clinical enough.

it has happen during several seasons ago that we always falter at the last hurdle against the top teams and coincidentally during the months of february and march.
But this time around there are some factors which have changed to our advantage unlike the previous faltering seasons and those are:-
    1. we avnt lost any of our star players
    2.our young players have matured
3.this season we av d right balance and mix of experience n youth
    4.belief is high up
5.team harmony has shot up and is evident on the field n off field (social media n d rest )
    6. during previous seasons we cared less about d defensive part of our game and steve bould really deserves kudos for the part he has done and instilling that defensive awareness coz this season unlike the many past we tend to defend from our attack line further up the pitch to the back four
7.although the squad depth is thin but we av quite a number of options all over to suppliment any shortfall and every one stepping in does it d same if not better
    COYG!!!!

I remembered 2008/09 season Arsenal beat Manure same as Liverfool twice and Chelsea, in fact the only big match Manure won was against Arsenal at Oldrubbish, and guess what they won the league. I know alot of things have changed but I still think we i.e all title contenders, are going to drop points.
