Arsene WengerArsenal missed the chance to extend their lead to four points from second placed Manchester City after earning a point against Southampton at St. Mary’s tonight.

Arsene Wenger made a few changes from their last game and his side were slow off the mark and poor in possession in the first-half and were 1-0 down before the break after Jose Fonte found the back of the net.

It wasn’t a great 45 minutes for Arsenal and Wenger must off said something inspiring to the lads during the interval as they cam out a completely different side from what we saw before the break.

10 minutes of free-flowing, attacking football saw the Gunners claw back into the match, firstly through Olivier Giroud from six-yards and then a superb move ended with a classy left-footed strike from Santi Cazorla put our boys 2-1 up. However, it was to be short-lived as a minute or so later the Saints levelled after a quick counter attack.

Arsenal’s night went from bad to worse after Mathieu Flamini saw red but we managed to hang on and leave St. Mary’s with a point.

Still top, but we could drop to third if City and Chelsea pick up wins against Spurs and West Ham respectively tomorrow night.

So what FIVE things did we learn from the Gunners tonight?

It was terrible to see Arsenal play tonight. Sometimes I wonder what mannner of manager Wenger is. He will not buy players but keep believing in a squad so depleted. At this rate the tittle will slip off our hands. If Wenger doesn’t win any trophy this season, he should be sacked contract or no contract.

Gibbs is far better to monreal in comparison.truly he brings life to players around him. We need more of outside shot from the 18yrd. Podolski can do that. And wenger should stop buying players that always look sick and lazy. Why are they been paid?wenger pls do something before its too late. We are facing liverpool @the FA cup, and also bayern munich @d champions league. Are we still going to be alternating players and managing what we got? No way.

arteta/flamini pairing always lets us down and why the hell should he prefer gnabry instead of poldosky? Our shielding pair to the back 4 collapsed and thats the main reason for tonight’s setback coz our pattern of play and strategy is predictable and less teams knew that b4 tonight hope we av a plan B,
To beat arsenal simply close down spaces by playing narrow in the middle and man mark the defensive pair infront of our back 4 and arsenal is strangled no team work and every player plays on his own, well we dearly missed the qualities of ramsey, rozisky ,wilshere and gibbs too and that justifies the need to buy .such a calamity only befalls a thin squad not quantity wise but quality wise hope wenger heeds this.
Look at city and chelsea they look stronger coz they have many quality options and they are still buying coz they are ambitious.
Penny wise pound foolish will never ever yield you anything but bumper profits and onfield frustrations,if 9 years of drought precipitated by synonymus factors of undoing havent made you grasp anything i dont know what truly will PROFFESOR OF IDIOCY AND ECONOMICS just feel you are in the wrong place and if you cnt win pls abandon ship your stewardship has failed us ,i hate to say this but enough is truly enough dander head
