FIVE striking options Wenger MUST consider this January

|

Javier Hernandez

With Robin van Persie, Wayne Rooney and now Danny Welbeck all ahead of him in the pecking order at United, Chicharito needs to be playing more regularly with the World Cup only a few months away, as well as seek a move away from Old Trafford to rejuvenate his career.

The 25-year-old is a modern day poacher and has mastered the art of being in the right place at the right time. He would certainly flourish at the Emirates with the likes of Mesut Ozil, Santi Cazorla, Jack Wilshere and Aaron Ramsey delivering in crosses and playing through balls to the speedy Mexican to latch on to.

Chicharito would also provide healthy competition for Giroud in the long run and would certainly help ease the goal burden from the latter.

Manchester United will not want to sell the Mexico international to a title rival mid-season, but for the right amount of money they would certainly consider it.

Karim Benzema

Benzema has been on a numerous occasions to Arsenal, with Arsene Wenger being a big admirer of the French forward.

Despite a bright start to his Real Madrid career, the 25-year-old became a victim of the Bernabeu boo-boys earlier in the season but has rediscovered his form as of late, scoring nine goals in 17 La Liga appearances thus far.

Having sold Gonzalo Higuain to Napoli over the summer, letting go of Benzema this month wouldn’t make much sense. He is their only established striker at the moment, with Alvaro Morata and Jese Rodriguez serving as backup.

However, should Real manage to sign a top striker (likelihood being Luis Suarez) then Benzema could well be moved on.

So this move could still potentially materialize if things occur. Wenger had to wait for many things to take place in order to get Ozil, and he may have to do the same to acquire Benzema.
