paul-georges ntepArsenal have been linked with a January move for Auxerre youngster Paul-Georges Ntep, with reports suggesting a deal is imminent.

However, Auxerre president Guy Cotret says the Gunners have not made a formal bid for the 21-year-old forward.

Arsene Wenger appears to want to sign another striker before the transfer window closes at the end of the month and has supposedly eyeing up a move for the France Under-21 international.

But Cotret has dismissed speculation that Ntep is on his way to the Emirates this month.

As reported by the Metro, Cotret said:

‘Arsenal has not even expressed an interest. We just received 1 offer for the player and it was Rennes.’

Get French Football News reported a deal had been agreed between the two clubs for Ntep, with the forward remaining at Auxerre on loan for the remainder of the season:

‘A source at Auxerre TV, the area’s main television station understands that the Arsenal have more-or-less agreed a €10m fee for the signing of Paul Georges Ntep, Auxerre’s star winger.’

‘They have also indicated that Ntep is set to be loaned straight back to the club until the end of the season.’

Ntep, whose contract at the Ligue 2 club expires next summer, has scored 10 goals in 21 appearances in all competitions for Auxerre so far this season.
