Ezequiel LavezziEzequiel Lavezzi has thrown his future in doubt at PSG after admitting he is not happy at the way things are going, putting, according to the Daily Express, Arsenal on red alert.

Lavezzi has been overlooked by Laurent Blanc with the Frenchman opting to play Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Edinson Cavani ahead of the Argentine forward.

Lavezzi has struggled to find his best form for PSG since his £25 million move from Napoli last summer, finding the net 12 times in 60 appearances for the French outfit, and has recently been linked with a move away from the Parc des Princes with Arsenal supposedly keen on him.

And Lavezzi has confirmed that he’s uncertain over his future at PSG despite wanting to prove his worth to the side:

‘I do not know. A player never knows exactly all these things.

‘But what I can tell you is that I will do everything to change my situation in Paris because I did not give it my best shot and I do not want this to continue.

‘I did not prepare myself well before the championship.

‘And the fact that my level is not good is certainly linked to the fact that I’m a bit weak physically.’

Should Lavezzi seek an exit from the Ligue 1 club, should Arsenal attempt to sign him? In a word. Yes.

Lavezzi has superb technical ability, pace and likes to get at the opposition’s defence. His style would certainly suit that of ours and would offer us a different option upfront from that of Olivier Giroud. Ok, he hasn’t managed to replicate the form he produced at Napoli for PSG, but the guy is a class player and is behind the likes of Ibra and Cavani in the pecking order which isn’t anything to be a shamed of in my book.

The only stumbling block for us would be matching his huge wages he currently receives – then again I never thought I would see Mesut Ozil in an Arsenal shirt.

If he becomes available I would at least like to see Arsenal try and acquire him.
