Which striker should Arsenal attempt to sign this January? [have your say]

Arsene WengerIt’s plain for everyone to see that Arsenal need to sign a striker this January. Money is apparently available to Arsene Wenger to utilize and the Arsenal faithful, as well as several, if not all, pundits alike believe the Frenchman must bring in a forward to help out Olivier Giroud with the goals. Should the French forward pick up a long-term injury (fingers crossed he doesn’t) and Wenger does not manage to acquire then we will be in the proverbial s***.

However, Wenger isn’t a stupid man and he will know that despite he has the likes of Theo Walcott, Lukas Podolski, Nicklas Bendtner and Yaya Sanogo able to play upfront, the former two names on the list are usually played out wide, while Bendtner and Sanogo aren’t exactly capable of leading the front-line.

We were linked with several strikers over the summer, most notably Luis Suarez and Wayne Rooney, but both opted to stay put at their respective clubs – leaving us with Giroud as our only effective forward until January and short of options upfront.

But if money is indeed made available to Wenger this January and he is actually looking to recruit a top striker – to bolster our attacking options – who should Le Boss go for?

I think it will also be about which strikers can we realistically get. I don’t think that Rooney or Suarez are realistic acquisitions at all, never mind in January. Lewandowski is also very unlikely. Other players mentioned like Pato, Elsharaway and Martinez could fit the bill but each would represent a slight punt for different reasons. My main requirement would be for the striker to be pacy to give us a different option to Giroud. As a slight left-field option I think Remy is a player that should be at a bigger club and think he could move onto a different level with the quality that would surround him at Arsenal. He would also likely be happy to be part of a rotating strike-force and not throw a strop if Giroud is chosen instead of him for some games. He has also played a lot from attacking left in his career so could give us the option of playing off to the left of Giroud.

Benteke would do, lewandowski is not a realistoc target yall know, dunno about Benzema and whethet RM wud sell two stars to Arsenal , but he wud do. Benteke wud be better since hes eligible for Champions league unlike Benzema. Costa – i doubt.

If you think Benzema would be a good signing then you need to be examined. He is lazy, lacks enthusiasm, lacks discipline and never gets involved unless the ball is placed on his feet.
