abdisalam IbrahimAbdisalam Ibrahim’s future at Manchester City looks in serious doubt as the youngster plots his next move in the New Year after helping Stromgodset to the Norwegian title, which has, according to the Daily Mail, put Arsenal on red alert.

Manuel Pellegrini has told the 22-year-old, currently on loan in Norway, that he can find a new club in January.

It is thought a number of clubs across Europe have and are still watching the midfielder, including Arsenal, Everton, Crystal Palace, Celtic and Hull.

However, following a successful spell at Stromgodset, Ibrahim has not ruled out a permanent switch to the Norwegian outfit.

When asked about extending his stay in Norway, Ibrahim said:

‘Yes, why not. Everything is possible. I’ve come here, so one more year does not hurt.

‘Right now I’m not thinking about it. It still has not quite sunk in that we have won the league title. Now it will be good to take a vacation and enjoy ourselves.’

Ibrahim, whose contract expires at the end of the season, has been likened to Ivory Coast and City star Yaya Toure. But it is understood Pellegrini will allow him to leave on a free transfer before then and the player’s preference is to find a club in England.

This season, Ibrahim made 30 appearances in total for Stromgodset, finding the net three times, and is a current Norway Under-23 international having progressed through the national ranks

I don’t think we need another midfielder coming in this winter – we have enough personnel in this department as it is. Unless of course it’s a defensive midfielder which Ibrahim isn’t.

Should Arsenal consider a free swoop for Ibrahim this winter?
