Is this Arsene Wenger’s last season in charge of Arsenal?

It is a question which has been popping up since 2005, the last time Arsenal managed to lift silverware.

Some sections of the Arsenal faithful believe the Frenchman is in the last chance saloon, while many would say he is still the right man for the job despite failing to acquire silverware. Others on the other hand like to just sit on the fence and go with the flow.

This season COULD well be the club’s best chance to end the trophy drought, with rival clubs under new management and monstrous amounts of money to spend. Yet with Wenger and co. only managing to sign France Under-21 international Yaya Sanogo thus far, the club MAY yet face another potless campaign – a scenario which undoubtedly we will all dread, even more so this season knowing Arsene HAS cash to splash to make the squad genuine title contenders.

Talks over a new deal for Le Boss are underway and he has reiterated his commitment to the club. However, any future deal will depend on how well he does this season.

We all know PSG are keen to land Wenger and, potentially, another season without any trophies may see the Arsenal board shake things up in the management department.

We can’t deny Wenger of his achievements since taking the reigns back in 1996. He made us into a formidable force, both in domestic and European competitions, in the beginning of his tenure and has also managed to qualify for the Champions League ever season for the past 16 years.

However, should he go another season potless? Will the board decide to take a new approach?

Personally, I don’t think this will be his last season in charge. However, I believe if Wenger knows he can’t take this team any further then he should really do the honourable deed of stepping down and letting someone else have a go.
