Matthias GinterFreiburg has rubbished claims suggesting Arsenal have tied up a deal for Matthias Ginter.

It was reported over the weekend that a £6.1 million deal had been agreed for the Germany Under-21 international.

However, the Bundesliga club’s sporting director Joachim Saier has recently stated that Arsenal have yet to make a bid for the 19-year-old and also said that it would take a much larger fee to prise away Ginter from the Mage Solar Stadion:

‘There have been no offers for Matthias, and to suggest we have agreed a fee, as mentioned, is nonsense. The fact of the matter is, we have no thoughts about selling him.’

Last season Ginter made 26 appearances for Freiburg, finding the net once, and also played a pivotal role in getting the German outfit into the Europa League this upcoming season.

It was Ginter’s dominant performances for both club and country that attracted the attention of Wenger, who appears keen to sign a robust midfielder this summer.

Ginter may well be a hot prospect for the future, but I would rather our club focus on bringing in a more experienced midfielder this summer, someone like Marouane Fellaini who is familiar with the Premier League.

He rubbished it 6 weeks ago, and Ginter himself said he wasn’t leaving. A bulls*it story dreamt up by metro once again!
