They think it’s all over…it is now!

|

Luis SuarezI don’t know about you guys, but I can confidently say that Luis Suarez will not be joining us this summer. This coming after Brendan Rodgers recently confirmed that not even a £55 million bid will be enough to land the Uruguayan striker.

We had an opening £30 million bid turned down by Liverpool last week and are reportedly preparing an increased offer for the then £40 million valued Suarez.

But after seeing Paris St. Germain splash out £55 million for Edinson Cavani a few days ago, Rodgers now believes Suarez’s valuation should at least match that of his fellow Uruguayan.

‘It was an offer for what they (Arsenal) considered his value and worth.

‘Obviously for a player of his quality, when you consider that Cavani has gone for £55million you know…Luis is up there in that bracket of top talent.

‘Obviously it was an offer we didn’t deem worthy of the talent and even if they came back with that kind of amount (£55million) there’s no guarantee he would be sold, even for that, because we are trying to build something here.’

Clearly, Rodgers wants to keep his prized asset, and rightly so. I’m sure we would do the same…or at least try to.

I was astonished to see Arsene Wenger actually table a £30 million bid for Suarez. But we are evidently being prized out of a move for the 26-year-old, and I simply can’t see our club spend that amount of money (£55 million) for one player – no matter how good he is.

The chase for Suarez is now over in my opinion and the sooner Wenger knows this the better.

Only Wayne Rooney and Gonzalo Higauin are attainable for us now, and even moves for them look in serious doubt.

Not looking good.

I knew ryt from start dat dis Suarez issue will never materialise infact Wenger ?????? confused what’s there if he gets a gud striker for less dat amount? We should not put all our hopes tinkin d club will sign a top class striker. No doubt, wenger will sign buh not world class.

My friend, it is only just getting started. Maybe we are just seeing this situation differently. Either you’re give up way too easily in the market, or you wrote this article with an agenda that you secretly don’t like Suarez. You are aware of the 40m release clause in Suarez’s contract? Believe me, Suarez’s agent will have something to say about that when they’re set to arrive back at Anfield next week. The fireworks are just now only starting, and there’s a good chance Suarez still ends up at the Emirates before the transfer window is over.

    • Browny says:

You are mistaken as its been in the press that the clause is not a release clause! But states that Liverpool have to let him know about any offer of £40m or above and he is then allowed to discuss personal terms without it being classed as tapping up. Liverpool are not obliged to sell.

I said from the start lfc wont let suarez go he is of more value to liverpool then any other striker because of his wrk rate skill and apetite for the game regardless of his bad rep we all stood by him ynwa for life
