Is this controversial hitman on his way to Arsenal?

|

Luis SuarezLuis Suarez is the latest name to be linked with a move to Arsenal, according to The Sun.

It is a rumour that seems to have some sort of truth to it as Bookies have stopped taking bets on the Liverpool striker quitting Anfield for The Emirates.

The controversial Uruguayan is tipped to leave Liverpool following a string of bad incidents on and off the pitch since joining the Merseyside club two years ago.

The 26-year-old has, in recent weeks, claimed a move to Real Madrid would be difficult to turn down, but the La Liga club have yet to contact Liverpool about the tricky forward.

But following a series of massive bets in Spain – with the Gunners as his destination – William Hill was forced to close their market on Suarez joining Arsenal this summer.

A spokesman of the bookmakers, Rupert Adams, said:

‘It would suggest they have heard something substantial.’

Although Suarez is a contentious figure, the guy is a world-class talent and for us to be linked with him can only be perceived as great news for the club and us, the fans.

He would no doubt be welcomed to The Emirates. However, the only thing I can’t get my head around is Arsene Wenger signing a ‘troublemaker’. He usually looks to get rid of them as soon as possible. So why would he target Suarez? This is the only thing I don’t get about this potential deal.

Still, I would love nothing more to see Suarez in an Arsenal shirt this season. The guy oozes quality and could fire us to silverware.

He bagged 30 goals in 47 appearances in all competitions (23 in the Premier League) last season. Although he has attitude and behavioural problems, he’s the type of player we need at our club. Someone to bang in goals, week in, week out.

For the bookies to stop taking bets on Suarez to join Arsenal this summer must mean something. Hopefully something good!
