Newcastle are closing in on Gervinho, with the 26-year-old’s agent reportedly negotiating a deal with The Magpies.
Gervinho joined Arsenal from Lille in 2011 for around £10 million but has struggled to hold down a regular place in Arsene Wenger’s side, making just 61 appearances in all competitions (18 starts this season) and contributing 11 goals and 12 assists. And it is believed The Gunners will listen to offers of around £10 million for the Ivory Coast international.
To be honest, if we receive an offer in the region of £10 million for Gervinho then I think the club should consider it.
He hasn’t made an impact at The Emirates since he joined and looks to be out-of-favour with Wenger. So is there any point of keeping him on our books? I don’t think so.

Why sell gervinho? The stats. Say it all, 18 games last season, 11 goals and 12 assists. People make itllooks like he’s that bad, I agreed he can get frustrating for the fat that he gets behind defenders so many times and make little out of them. I personally would blame the coach for taking so long to make him clinical infront goals.

It is so strange how Arsene Wenger signs up flop-after-flop-afer-flop lately! It’s hard to imagine that Wenger who in yester years signed stars like Vieira, Henry, Pires, Ljungberg, Gilberto, Fabregas etc, is the same man pilling-up dead-wood at the Emirates i.e. Gervinho, Arshavin, Bendtner, Chamakh, Park Chu Young, Ander Santos, Frimpong etc!! Could the French gaffer have replaced his eye lenses of the period between 1997 and 2003? With Spurs hot on his heels and pursuit for the league turning into a fading dream, Arsene Wenger needs to return to the basics – NOW!!
