Arsenal are plotting a shock move for Bayern Munich’s David Alaba, according to the Daily Star.
Despite achieving the treble with the Bavarian giants this season, the 20-year-old was left frustrated at being deployed in the left-back role rather than in his favoured central midfield position.
He said:
‘The club sees me at the moment as a left defender. But I see myself as a midfielder and I have all of that in mind.
‘I try to keep quiet in this regard, but it is a goal of mine to become a regular for Bayern in central midfield.’
It is believed Munich have no interest in selling the young Austrian, who is due to sit down and discuss a new contract at the Allianz Arena.
However should Alaba fail to get the assurances that he’s looking for then he may well consider his options, despite being tied down to Bayern until 2015.
Bayern have been linked with a reported £15 million summer move for Laurent Koscielny and could be tempted to part ways with Alaba if the Frenchman was to be included in a potential deal this summer.
Alaba is one hell of a player. He impressed me in the Champions League this season and would be a great signing.
But if we are indeed interested in the Austrian then should we propose/consider a player exchange deal with Bayern – Alaba for Koscielny?
Don’t even think about it.
Laughable, Wenger has already said that no one will be leaving. Esp not the best CB we’ve had since Sol left us, the first time round. Kos is a beast!
Sorry but NO, thank you
No deal..Alaba for Squillaci,Yes!
What apen hahaaaa,,alaba alaba alaba,,aw many tymz did i call u,,,u knw better pass gibbs,,,sotigbo,,,alaba ko labalaba ni,,,diabi 4 alaba
Ore mi fi bobo ye le. Ko gbadun rara! Alaba lnternational Market ni.
Alaba is fantastic. I would do this only if we were able to sign 2 other CBs of high quality, and I mean like Dante/Varane/Thiago/Hummels quality.
Sagna or flappyhandski for alaba
Alaba is a great left back, but we already have two very good left backs at the club in Gibbs and Monreal. Whether he goes on to become a great midfielder remains to be seen.
Replacing Koscielny with a defender of similar quality would be very difficult, so definitely not a deal i’d want to accept.
U must be out of your mind for posting such trash.
Koscienly for Messi or Ronaldo would be worth the sacrifice. Koscienly for Alaba? No deal!
