Forget about the Dutchman, go for the Frenchman instead Arsene

Oddly enough, we have found ourselves linked with a move for out-of-favour Dutchman Wesley Sneijder.

The 28-year-old has not featured for Inter Milan since September due to refusing to take a pay cut. Many a clubs have found themselves linked with the talented, quick-footed midfielder, and Galatasaray is said to be closing in on a deal. However, Sneijder has seemingly told his agent his preferred destination is the Premier League, making him more attractive to the likes of Arsenal, Spurs, Chelsea and even QPR.

But there is on bump on the road – Sneijder is said to be demanding £200,000-a-week, making Arsenal an unlikely destination for the Holland international.

But is Sneijder what Arsenal truly needs?

With Santi Cazorla continuing to set the Premier League alight and Aaron Ramsey still improving, would it be a good idea to sign Sneijder, even at a bargain price?

Think about it – £200,000-a-week is more than a whopping £10 million a year for the services of a player, who would be fighting for a starting place with the in-form Spanish magician.

Furthermore, he is more than likely to see a signing on fee.

I would rather see Arsenal go for a holding midfielder – a tough-tackling, rock solid, defensive anchorman.

Who springs to mind? Well for me, only one name – Yann M’Vila. The controversial, talented France international was linked with a move to Arsenal last summer, but the deal fell through due to Rennes demanding around £22 million for him. However, because of disciplinary problems and bad form, Rennes is said to accept offers in the region of £7 million. And if anyone can get the best out of M’Vila, it’s Arsene Wenger.

Considering the fact that both club and player would agree to a move, I think it is an obvious transfer for Wenger to undertake.

Have you actually seen M’Vila play this season? … and do you really think Ramsey’s “still improving” – seriously??? I love the guy for his attitude and courage after being mauled by Shawcross but you can only go so far on sympathy.

    • HARRY COOPER says:

YOUR RIGHT ABOUT RAMSEY,,,,HE IS NOT IMPROVING AND WE NEED MOVE ON FROM SYMPATHY OR STOP MOANING IF WE KEEP LOSING WHICH WILL HAPPEN IF WE KEEP PLAYING RAMSEY..

      • Henry says:

Don’t u think ramsy should go out on loan just like wilsherd

        • ty says:

price reduced because of “disciplinary problems and bad form”. doesn’t sound like a guy you would really want?

  • James says:

In fairness to Ramsey he’s 21 years old he has time on is side when he finds his confidence again he will flourish let’s face it the square does not help him too much with its inconsistent displays. When Fabregas came through he was surrounded by experienced established premier league professionals who had won it all, our young lads Ramsey included have no such luck.

    • James says:

      Re squad not square

    • smoki says:

he is supposed to help the team not the other way around…..its almost 3 years from his injurie how much more time do u want to give him to gain his form….lol…..take notic at wilsher he was out for 14 months longer then ramsey and he plays just fantastic….

      • James says:

Valid point but playing wide left isn’t helping the guy either let’s take a look at Cazorla 27 years of age and only now at a top club or at the moment sleeping giant, he’s had not had the pressure to develop like Ramsey has. The reason everyone is so frustrated with him is because we know how good he has he potential to be but at the moment he’s not moving on as fast as we’d like because. This is because the fans have shot his confidence and at a young age it’s confidence tha carries you while you get experience, on comparison to jack you can se he is confident about what he does where Ramsey lacks confidence in his conviction. We should get off his back and let him develop after all he’s not the one losing us games is he.

wesley will improve our squad Ramsey can not add to a midfield of Cazorla, Wilshere and Arteta. Wenger is spoiling his growth at Arsenal he should still be playing for reserves or for a lower team, personally i think Landsbury was better than Ramsey and we sold him, call it the Arsene way. Follow me @kyekye45 ill follow back #Goonerfamily

  • Prince says:

he is all dat bad we need him tu improve our defensive role.

  • Arsènal says:

I still can’t understand the hype about this m’vila! How can you compare him to sneijder? The first is a proved international master, who nearly grabed the golden boot award in 2010 and showed his quality many times at his clubs as well as for holland. The other is a hyped greenhorn – who surley has his qualyties – but plays in a league of loosers! Chamakh was superb in this league! Gervinho phenomenal! I don’t say he isn’t a good player or is not capable of adding quality to our squad. But you simply can’t be sure! Sneijder has nothing to proof and he’s defenetly the man i’d go for! Even if he demands 300’000 a week – he’s an absolute bargain!

    • Joe says:

U r sick dude, we don’t need Sneijder, we need a box to box mid or a DM, physciality is what we need to add to our mid. £200,000?? Not at Arsenal

  • mystic says:

Are you insane? On his day Wesley is in the top 5 players in the world – personally I would put him in the top 3.

Give him his £200k per week, dump Walcott, umpteen other deadwoods and forget chasing M’vila.
