What FIVE things did we learn from Manchester City v Arsenal?

So, deservedly, we managed to bag a point against the Premier League champions at the Etihad Stadium thanks to a late goal by Laurent ‘The Boss’ Koscielny and yet another dogged performance by our new look side.

Undoubtedly, we looked the better side throughout the entire 90 minutes. Ok, there were times where we were on the back foot, but we looked the better side out of the two. We kept possession well, created a few chances and were rewarded for our efforts in the end.

To be fair, if Gervinho had his shooting boots on, we would have travelled back to London with all the point, but beggars can’t be choosers, and I think the majority of the Arsenal faithful will be pleased with a point away from home to a team of City’s calibre.

So that’s five games in, nine points from a possible 15, nine goals for, two against and currently one of just four teams who have yet to taste defeat – not too shabby if I say so myself.

So what FIVE things did we learn about our beloved Gunners?

I was impress with carl today but wenger to buy a prolific or world class striker, i like lorente / demba BA what? a team arsenal wil be with BA

  • JOEL says:

1.Alike Fabianski amd Almunia before him,Mannone is a good “shot-stopper” but couldn’t catch a cold!
2.Arsenal are just a couple of players short of really challenging for the Premiership Title.
2.Gervinho is always going to be erratic as hell!…and more often than not, this will mean that he will have no end product.
3.The back four are developing nicely as a unit where the CBs are able to slot in and out.
4.Arteta’s ability to sit in front of the back four illustrates perfectly that Song will not be missed.
5.Carzola is a class act…but we knew that before today’s game!

    Arsene should have gotten mirallas
gervinho has a banana leg & should have been subbed
mert is getting better with play
walcot can be sold without repercussions
    we could have won

  • dude says:

I would have subbed gerv with arshavin

  • Goonerbeall says:

Well well Gunners. Is this the team were told will go to the dogs? No, what will take us to the dogs is the spelling on display. Franck loose is opposite to tight.
What applies to football is lose which opposite to win.
Get it? As of our perfomance, many pundits on here forget that their preferences are of no interest to us
as we look in appreciation of Wengers madness/genius.
When Jenkinson first came i thought it was crazy to even
think a reserve at Charlton Athletic can play for Arsenal
when he cant at Charlton. Look now, he held his own among top players. City thought he was the weak link and got nowt. w

5 things learnt from the man city vs Arsenal game.
1.if mannone gets playing time can b better than scieszny.
    2.our defence has improved.
3.Ramsey is back on his form.
4.Arsenal can b a threat in counter attacks.
5.watever pple say about van persie but 4 real we miss him(Gervinho is wastefull).
generally we r gud & Gervinho has to change his finishing style.

  • merkin says:

    1. City changed their game because they were afraid of our speed and technical ability.

    2. The defense is for real. I can’t believe I am saying this one year after some of Arsenal’s worse defensive showing in, well, forever. MOTM, and not for the first time, Steve Bould, the signing of the summer. Per and Jenkinson were beasts, City attacked both and they held firm. Per will be up for defender of the week if there is such a thing.

    3. We can wait for Giroud to come around and go good but it will be painful to watch having to create 12 chances to score one goal. Podolski was buried today with markers and not able to help out much. They let Gervinho run loose and he didn’t hurt them.

    4. We have the best midfield in the EPL. When Rosicky, Wilshire and to a lesser degree, Fimpong come back we will probably have the two best midfields in the League. Compare it to ManUre’s geriatric 70+ year old midfield, and that’s only two of them. The biggest problem we will have is getting them all playing time and keeping them next year.

    5. We have real competition for every position on the field except striker. Scouts, you know what has to be done and you know how to do it. One world class striker, please.

  • Aaron says:

I reckon we would have won it if Gervinho was substituted for Walcott earlier on.

Podolski should have been pushed up front, with ramsey playing in the middle and walcott taking the wide role.

bad substitution and timing by Wenger cost us 2 points.

really guys we are almost there.just one or two players short of becoming an unbeatable team. u know wat I think, let Theo leave and bring in Ben Arfa.ARSENAL will be Magical.who knows,we could be invisible again.proud of Arsenal.

  • We are stronger than last season, but still lack that something extra to win games like with Gervinho,a good player but not world class. If he was we would have 3 points, and maybe challange for the title. Still maybe a player or two short again. But earlly days yet
