What FIVE things did we learn from Manchester City v Arsenal?

So, deservedly, we managed to bag a point against the Premier League champions at the Etihad Stadium thanks to a late goal by Laurent ‘The Boss’ Koscielny and yet another dogged performance by our new look side.

Undoubtedly, we looked the better side throughout the entire 90 minutes. Ok, there were times where we were on the back foot, but we looked the better side out of the two. We kept possession well, created a few chances and were rewarded for our efforts in the end.

To be fair, if Gervinho had his shooting boots on, we would have travelled back to London with all the point, but beggars can’t be choosers, and I think the majority of the Arsenal faithful will be pleased with a point away from home to a team of City’s calibre.

So that’s five games in, nine points from a possible 15, nine goals for, two against and currently one of just four teams who have yet to taste defeat – not too shabby if I say so myself.

So what FIVE things did we learn about our beloved Gunners?

Well The five things we have learnt is that as team we are defensively more robust. That we are still short of a striker. We can get something frome games even after conceding first. That we have two strong keepers to challenge for the number 1 Jersey. The best value for money in the first few games is cazorla. Our next challenge in premier league is chelsea but without drogba they are a different proposition.

They are a different proposition. A better one. If Chelsea come to our place with Hazard and Oscar in form then we have our hands full. Those two could cause us a lot of trouble and perhaps be the difference. As long as we’re disciplined, we close down quickly and keep possesion we’l be fine. We really need to be on our toes, more than against city even though we are at home. Walcott notmally bags against Chelsea…..just a thought.

  • Ramsey is a good player no matter what we think of him.
    Carzola is a good buy.
Whenever Grioud is in da match, put a winger that crosses ball not Gervinho.
    We are solid defensively.
    Jenkinson and Metersacker are amazing.

  • I’ve been really impressed with Jenkinson so far this season. Last season he was awful and I far preferred Coquelin at right back, but this season he has improved exponentialy. Not only defensively, but did you know that he’s in fourth place in the league for most touches this season behind Arteta, Toure, and Cazorla.

yes I go wit richard, arsenal re now playin collectively as a team, fightin spirit from behind, more solid at the defence and also at the midfield. arsenal problem is now base in striker but hope that the French man ‘Giroud’ will find his scorin boot that crowned him Ligue 1 top scorer last season. but my praise goes to two fantastic signins Lukas Podolski n Santiago Cazolar Gonzalez and also to the young Carl Jekinson he is improvin match by match. I wonder wat dis team would be when all the injured players come back, a team to beat really!

      Easy. It’ll look this:-

      Szchezzer
      Sagna – Mertesacker – TV5 – Gibbs
      Arteta
      Diaby/Cazorla – Wilshere
      Cazorla/Ox – Giroud – Podolski

  • Ichele Aki says:

Diaby should be playing for 60mins for now.

    Jenkinson was superb 2day.

  • CanadaGooner says:

Jack will take Diaby’s spot on the first team sooner than we think.
Ramsey will be great one day.
Bould was the best move of the off season.
Jenkinson is our future right back.
Santi vs Silva… was Silva even playing?

  • sorour says:

    1. Arsenal are a team unit now.
    2. Back four should be rotated to keep our 3 defenders fresh and firing.
    3. Aron Ramsey is improving and shows glimpses of what he was before the horrific injury.
    4. Keep Cazrola FIT.
    5. If theo doesn’t wana sign the contract let him leave cause we have got cover.

  • T-phranck says:

1)this is a new look arsenal who hate to concede not to even mention loose. 2)jenkinson and gibbs have improve tremendously. 3)get injured and you begin to loose your place. 4)we have 3 quality center backs. 5) our midfield is the best in the EPL. 6)Mannone will give sczcezny a run for his monet 7)we play collectively as a team.8)RAMSEY is back. 9)gervinho should do more scoring practics at training.10) ARSENE plus BOULD =success.
