THREE midfielders who could potentially replace Song

With the start of the new Premier League season around the corner and the closure of the summer transfer window not to far off either, we are set for yet another transfer saga that we may have to drag out until deadline day.

Cameroon midfield enforcer Alex Song has been continuously linked with a move away from The Emirates this summer with Barcelona keen to sign him.

The 24-year-old still has two years left on his current deal and seems very happy at Arsenal, so a move away doesn’t seem likely at all at this point.

But for whatever reason he decides to leave Arsenal, who should the club replace him with?

For me it isn’t hard to think about three players who play the same role and are equally as versatile as Song.

The three players in question are Cheik Tiote, Yann M’Vila and Nuri Sahin.

We’ve been heavily linked with the abovementioned names over recent months, with a move for Sahin looking the most likeliest to transpire. And out of the three I would like to see Sahin come in, as the Turkish international is generally a better all-round player than Tiote and M’Vila.

Though he would only be signed on a loan deal, it would be a short-term which would carry no real problems.

But should the club decide to buy him outright after his potential successful loan spell, then I’m sure he wouldn’t cost much, Unlike M’Vila, who is priced at well over £17 million, as the Turk is not a key player at Real Madrid

Most readers I’m sure would go for Tiote.

His Premier League experience is the one thing he has over all the others, making him a more suitable choice, though I doubt Alan Pardew would part ways with one of his star players. Unless of course we can pay over the odds for him, which even for us this summer – with the way we’ve spent our money – sounds highly unlikely.

They all seem to be very mobile on the field and clearly talented with the ability to link well with their respective team-mates.

But for me, Sahin stands out as the main candidate to fill the potential gap left by Song.

Hi Taaza. You miss out probably the most useful DM Arsenal could sign, Etienne Capoue. He has put in a transfer request and wants to play CL football. If Song goes I feel sure either Yann M’Vila or Etienne Capoue will end up here in Goonerland. I think we do have a relatively deep midfield with Song or replacement. My biggest worry is that we will have up to 60 games this season and without Giroud or Podolski in some of them we are desperately short of another accomplished striker. That alone could cost us some games and the Premiership.

  • Now arsenal is feeder team to all bigger clubs in europe, any time they want whoever they like they will come for promotion.

Fuck Song and RVP.Wenger buy M’Vila and Llorente

Oh how I agree with the comment that Arsenal are a feeder club and the sooner Wenger pulls his finger out and does something about it the better. Obviously clubs will come in for our best players it saves them money in the long run, but Wenger will need to reinvest the money he has and will earn from the sale of RvP and Song instead of ploughing it back into the pockets of the board members the better. We need to strengthen our midfield due to the fact Diaby (potentially a liability even before the season starts), Wilshere out until at least October, Rosicky (see comment for Diaby, and what if one of our strikers is injured who can we call on Chamakh is a joke and Gervinho hasn’t actually set the premier league alight since arriving, the same with Walcott who could possibly also leave.

M’Villa would be the best option, he is more defensive minded and we can really cash in on song now when he clearly wants to play a more attacking role and we already have cazorla and others to play in that role. M’Villa will play and stay deep and grow into the role. COYG

It seems, we Arsenal fans do not know the ambitions of the club; no any player that can’t sold. Shameful!!!
