Well it’s finally over.

After weeks and weeks of speculation, Robin van Persie has decided to call time on his Arsenal career and is set to leave the north London club before the new Premier League season commences this Saturday.

The Gunners have agreed to sell the 29-year-old, who only has one-year left to run on his existing contract at The Emirates, to Manchester United for a reported £22 million.

The Holland international will reportedly travel to Manchester tomorrow in order to agree personal terms and undergo a medical ahead of his proposed move to Old Trafford.

Firstly, let me begin by saying that I am one Arsenal fan who is glad to see the back of him, especially after he released a statement in which he claimed that he will not be signing a new deal at Arsenal.

But selling him to one of our greatest rivals is borderline stupid in my opinion.

Still, in hindsight, £24 million for a 29-year-old, who has one year remaining on his current deal, is a great piece of business by our club – it’s just a shame he wasn’t sold abroad.

I guess we’ll have to wait and see what effect this will have on our squad and our title hopes this season.

  • Not to hijack this thread, but I want to know if I can have a short sale and I can’t figure out how to find a local, highly regarded realtor… have you ever heard of this realtor? They’re based out of sacramento, in the same city as me and I can’t find reviews on them – Becky Lund & Associates – Sacramento Realtors, 8814 Madison Avenue #2 Fair Oaks, CA 95628 (916) 531-7124
