Gunners eye up Sevilla star to replace contract-rebel Theo

Arsenal are set to make a move for Sevilla winger Jesus Navas, according to the Daily Mail.

Arsene Wenger has already signed Santi Cazorla from Malaga this summer and reports in Spain claim the Frenchman is eyeing up Navas as a potential replacement for contract-rebel Theo Walcott.

The Arsenal winger has entered the last year of his contract and with negotiations at a stand still, and reported interest from Chelsea, Liverpool and Southampton, Wenger may decide to cash in on the England international rather than risk losing him on a free next summer.

The 26-year-old Spain international supposedly has a £35 million buy-out clause in his contract. However, Sevilla are prepared to do business at half of the amount stated.

Navas, who has been at the Seville-based club since the age of 15, has racked up over 250 appearances for the Spanish side and has been capped 21 times at international level.

To be fair, they are both very similar players.

But, in my opinion, Navas packs more technique, creativity and gets forward a lot more than Theo.

The Spaniard would be a more than credible replacement for Theo.

However, he would definitely need to hit the weights if he decides to swap The Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan for The Emirates.

Are you kidding ? Isn’t this the same guy who gets homesick whenever he leaves and has cost himself a place on the national team? He ain’t coming to the Gunners. AS a matter of fact Theo will not be the last as this club which has now made over 200 million selling players that cost..what 60 continues it’s way into being a farm team for the bigger clubs it used to compete with. Theo wants a raise, why not. He has progressed, is dangerous in spite of lack of service. You an practically put your fingers on the next ones to leave, or that will leave as they mature and get better. No one is going to stay at the Emirates. Over the years I began rooting for Barsa as Gunners started going there. I now openly root for them, especially after Cesc left, and now Song. I do not think I am in danger of rooting for Man U but you all get my point. It is fun to specualte, but we all know what time it is. The Gunners o longer are a serious threat for anything but maybe the FA cup. They are a SELLING club and will compete with The Spuds, Newcastle, Liverpool for the top of the mid table teams.

Poor MARTYP!!! Your submission is nothing but nonsense! I think before you write, you need to get at least a grain of information, instead of reacting to things you simply don’t have a clue about! When did Jesus Navas move and felt home sick? For your information, he has never played his football beyond his current club Sevilla. Never! The home sickness you’re attributing him to was maybe from your nightmares!!!

Secondly, it’s good you’ve said you root for Barcelona and Man United. Go to hell with them and leave Arsenal to us who will die with it, no matter what. Do you understand? Fuck off and move on. ‘No one will remain at the club’? How does that give you headache being a supporter of another football club? Go to hell!!!!!!!!!

I think MartyP makes a good point, without even knowing it. Yes, we are a feeder club, of soccer fans!!! Just like some of the players that have left, we don’t need you or your comments either mate. Just follow your trophy ego, and let the Arsenal supporters get on with supporting our Club, Our Manager and Our Players. Oh, and learn some economics too, Spanish economics maybe

  • Patrick Ssekatawa says:

Theo’s contract talks have stalled? Where do you get this from? Arsene Wenger has just said that negotiations are going on and that he wants to stay and so does the club! This is the clearest indication that he will soon pen a new deal, isn’t it?

Are you also one of those dooms-pellers for Arsenal? Get real man!!

  • Neal says:

Good bye and good riddance MartyP……this is reality and Arsenal will continue to be this way , speak to some of the real fans from Newcastle who have a similar model and try to figure out why they are so proud……

  • bc says:

Dont get you at all. please root for anyone you want as long as its not the arsenal. we dont need mugs like you so please fcuk off!

Nevas is is Reyes in the making. Good player but gets the heebie geebies get on a bus to Madrid let alone coming to the UK.

“Arsenal a feeder club”, “Arsenal are a selling club” – Nothing new! Ray kenendy, Charlie George, Liam Brady and Frank Stapleton. All a long time ago. Get the point?

Arsenal have a good squad now. If they add to it in the week all the better. If Marty P wants to support Barca in a hissy fit…that’s fine with me. A supporter supports their club through thick and thin. End of. They don’t go supporting another team. Stick with it and take the bad times in as much good style and grace as the good times! Hardly bad times is it? We finished third in the league. Let’s all get a sense of perspective.

Typical managment ploy to undermine Walcott’s bargaining position – the same as we saw with RVP having his replacements lined up well in advance. Any good manager looking after the interests of the business will do that – when it comes to contract negotiations team and club bonds go out of the window for players. They are on their own when it comes down to the money.

  • MartyP says:

Not a BArsa supporter, but I never stop cheering for our guys no matter where they are Exception..Samir Nasri..reality is a bit much for folks who sit on the sidelines and watch. You do not understand Kroenke at all. Look at his club in the MSL..they were champions, but now there is no investment in that club. His NFL club, the St. Louis Rams doodles around in the free agent market, and are having a hard time climbing out of last place. The NBA club is like Arsenal…relies on a brillinat manager and sells off their stars, one of the reasons Carmelo Anthony left. ou all can tell me to fuck off all you want. I enjoy the game, but my expectations are what yours are.
