Farah urges Van Persie to quit Arsenal

Robin van Persie has been urged by world champion athlete and ardent Arsenal fan Mo Farah to quit the club if he wants to be considered truly world-class.

The 28-year-old is currently in limbo after revealing to the club that he will not be renewing his contract beyond 2013.

As a result, Manchester City, Manchester United, Juventus, Real Madrid and Barcelona are all primed to make a move for the Holland international, leaving Arsenal, for the second summer in a row, in quite a dilemma – sell the striker now or lose him for nothing next summer.

Arsenal have not seen any silverware since 2005 and City are prepared to offer RVP the wages he is seeking, and Farah reckons the striker is right to consider his future:

‘I don’t think it’s anything to do with money. It’s more him wanting to win things.

‘I would love for him to stay, but unfortunately you have to think of yourself and you have to think of your career.’

He added:

‘It’s OK what the public and other people think, but, deep down, you know.

‘For me, with my family on the other side of the world, knowing I was coming sixth and sixth, something had to change if I was going to compete with the top guys.

‘Van Persie probably thinks the same way.’

Everyone has there own views on the matter, me, I just hope this doesn’t drag on as long as it has too.

Hopefully he will be sold before the season kicks off so that the club can concentrate on the more important things at hand.

You somalian idiot, there is every reason RVP can win things at Arsenal. If RVP stays we look srong… RVP, Giroud, Podolski is a potenially a formidable attack, add wilshre, song arteta thats a qauilty midfeild. Our defence will be a lot better this season with steve Bould as AW’s no.2. Mo Farah should go and support the Spuds!

RVP will leave,100%. Don’t blame him.The fm is to be blamed. I blieve the longer the fm stays at Arsenal he will finally cause the gunners to go inot terminal decline from which they will take a long, long ,long time to recover lost ground.

But what do you expect from a person that refuse to race for his native country but chose UK. They are all mercenaries.

If the Van wants to win something he could have won Euro 2012 with the Holland world cup squad.

1.you are all childish answering to mo farah who doesn’t know anything about football, he’s a runner so he has to win a medal but football is a collective games.
    2. van persie has already been replaced why are you still reacting, he wanted to hold the club to ransom like cesc and nasri last summer but failed. wenger already bought giroud. now he can sign up or f**k off.

  • Bob says:
