Why this man should be Arsenal’s NEXT summer signing

Lukas Podolski has finally been officially announced as a Gunner. We knew this ages ago, the only thing that held the announcement back were the problems that were being experienced at his former club FC Koln.

We had an early start adding value and depth to our squad, which is great to see. The question now is, who do we go for next?

I have a simple and straight forward answer to this question, and we don’t even have to look far – Yossi Benayoun.

The on loan Israeli has been brilliant for us when he has featured. He’s experienced, has great technical ability, is highly creative and a superb team player. Benayoun has shown interest in playing for us in recent weeks, so why not sign him permanently when the season is up? Chelsea don’t look like they really need him, as they have an overload of midfielders amongst their squad.

To put it simply, Yossi is a brilliant player and one we can not let pass us by, especially after seeing what he can bring to the table first hand this season.

If we sign him then maybe we can go for Eden Hazard and the rest of those high-profile players everyone keeps yapping on about.

But having seasoned heads in the squad certainly won’t hurt us, especially when they are playing well and can offer something to the side like Yossi Benayoun does.

With the experience from the ‘older players’ and the flair from the younger ones, I believe we will be and look even more dangerous next campaign, which of course will mean that we will finally get our hands on some silverware next season.

Do you agree? Should Yossi Benayoun be our next summer signing, or is there another player we should be concentrating on?

100% agree, fantastic squad player that has turned up on big occasions like spurs and city home and played brilliant. Arsenal fans love him, he gets great reception especially at away games and is a leader in the group

Completely agree but on a 1 year contract only!

fantastic player, great work ethics and a leader as well,
he will want to stay with us, considering his option and chelsea wont need him much and wont complain,
    Such a great character

    erm….we can do better

his done very well this season, but we talk about deadwood in the team

    and with podolzki coming in
and am sure a few new faces…if benayo was to stay
he would play about 1-2 games a season
and that would be just picking up his wage for doing nothing.

i think we should aim for better players rather then chealse rejects.

Only if he was a free transfer or very cheap because he’s getting on a bit

  • Will Evans says:

I think Arsenal should go for Kagawa for Dortmund, Similar to Rosicky and Benayoun but with better passing

  • bc says:

Chelsea want £5m and yossi wants £75k a week thats a hell of a lot for a player who is 32 this month.

  • Putyourfootin says:

This article is deluded. Sure hes won us a couple of games this season and risen to the ocasion when he has been selected (except vs Milan), but trust in Wenger he assess who is the best in training and plays those who show the best quality each week.
Plus hes nearly 32 and will probably want a 2 year contract at least plus get more game time than he has this year, Arsenal didnt want to give Bergkamp a 2 year contact at that age. I wish him well but it is not in the interests of Arsenal to keep him.
