Who’d be in your Arsenal XI to take on West Brom at The Hawthorns today?

Ok I’m going to keep this post relatively short and sweet. It’s the final day of the season and, realistically, we need to bag all three points against West Brom at The Hawthorns later this afternoon to guarantee third spot and an automatic place in the Champions League next season.

So I ask for the last time this season – what should our starting line-up look like?

It’s a massive fixture, thus the players chosen by Arsene Wenger must be up to the challenge.

Here is how I think Wenger should set out his team:

Szczesny

Coquelin         Koscielny         Vermaelen         Gibbs

Song          Chamberlain

Gervinho                                              Benayoun

Rosicky

Van Persie

The back four remains the same, with Francis Coquelin coming in for the injured Bacary Sagna.

I would partner Alex Song with young Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain rather than Aaron Ramsey, as the Welsh midfielder has not been in good form recently and could be slated should a bad result ensue (hopefully not).

Gervinho and Yossi Benayoun on the wings, swapping flanks from time to time, while the creative and resurgent Tomas Rosicky sits behind and feeds the 30-goal Robin van Persie (hopefully the Dutch striker can add to his tally!!!)

Time to stand up and be counted for!!!

COME ON YOU GUNNERS!!!

Who do you guys reckon should start for us today?

Second Half bring on Walcott for Gervinho put the ox left and walcott on the right and Song for Benny then push Rosicky into attacking mid just to mix it up you could bring on santos with 20 to go for chamberlain to play LW

  • Will Evans says:

Ox for Gervinho. Then bring Walcott on up front with RVP if needed

Gk chezney lb gibbs rb Cock or jenk cbs kos and tv5 dm song and ox or Cock, mid ros rw the forehead lw ifbenny cf the king rvp
If i played ox beside song him and benny should interchange, and that could mean Cock instead of jenk
if i play Cock beside song that means jenk at rb and Oct moves to rw the forehead on the bench and ox and benny interchange.

Actually Szczesny is not NOT injured.

I’m going for a 4-4-2 because it’s defensive and offensive.

    Coquelin …. Koscielny …. Vermaelen …. Gibbs

    ………………… Song ………………….

    Chamberlain …… Rosicky ………….. Gervinho

    …………..Van Persie ……Chamakh ………..

Chamakh is a work-horse and in a 4-4-2 he’s good. Gervinho’s best position is left Wing. Chamberlains best position is right wing. Rosicky’s best position has always been central midfield.

Team instructions: Song and Vermaelen to have a day off from thinking they are attacking Midfielders. Van Persie to play deep centre-forward where his creativity can put the pace of Gervinho and Chamberlain to good, Chamakh to endlessly ‘distract’ the W.B.A defence while the rest of the team go about their duties.
