Arsene Wenger has told us (the fans) to be patient before he continues his summer spending spree – haven’t we heard this before?!
As we all have come to realise, Wenger has already signed German international striker Lukas Podolski and is thought to be keen on strengthening his side further as the days past.
However with injuries to assess, the Frenchman will apparently weigh up his options before signing anyone else:
Quoted on talkSPORT.com, Le Boss said:
‘We wanted to get at least one of our transfer targets sorted out early and we are pleased to have achieved it [with Podolksi].
‘The next phase of our ‘signings’ will be to take care of our injured players and make sure they are back for the start of next season.
‘I am thinking of players like Jack Wilshere, Abou Diaby and Per Mertesacker – when these guys are fit we have quite a big squad and before we can buy again we have to assess how many players we have.’
To be fair he does have a point. We have a lot of injured players to come back, some more key than others.
I would like Wenger to continue his summer shopping, but for now he and the rest of the squad must solely concentrate on the last game of the season, this is undoubtedly more important than acquiring new recruits.
We (the fans) will have to remain patient and see what Wenger has in store at the end of the season. Hopefully he doesn’t leave it to the last day of the transfer window to make his signings though!

Sorry but I don’t get this.
It doesn’t take much of Wenger’s or Gazidis’s time to get the injured players fit. Why can’t they get on with the transfer activities and leave the medical staff to fix the broken ones? That’s just an excuse!
Why wasting our precious time on players like Diaby,Ramsey,Arshavin.etcGet some better players to back the team up,we really need to rehaul the whole team most especially at Midfield and defensive area to be fit for next season.if the man cannot do that he needs to resign or rather to be sack.
OUT ALUMNIA, SQUALLCI, DENSILSON, VELA, ARSHIVAN, BENDTHER, LANDSBURY, WATT, CHAMAKH,PLUS MERTERSACKER AND GERVINHO HAVENT BEEN TERRFIC SIGNINGS.
IF THEY CANT BE SOLD EX SCQUALLCI THEN TRY TERMINATE THEY CONTRACT TO SAVE WAGES…THESE PLAYERS HAVE NOT GIVEN ANYTHING THIS SEASON.
BUT IN ANOTHER STRIKER, CENTRE HALF (VERTONGHEN)AND HOLLIETT ON A FREE,POLOSKI IS GONNA PLAY LEFT WITH JACK IN BEHIND THE STRIKER VAN PERSIE.
IF MVILLA IS COMING IN THEN SONG HAS TO BE SOLD. ALEX HAS BE VERY GOOD THIS SEASON BUT HAS GOT FOUND OUT ON OCASSION EX BARTON OPR AND NEWCASTLE HE IS NOT ANATURAL DEFENSIVE MIDFIELDER

If we sell, ALLUMUNIA, SQULLASH, DIABY, DENILSON, PARK, CHAMACK, RAMSEY and VELA though vela not avictim. We should bring in like PODOLSK{done thank you}, DEMPSEY, M,VILA, VENTEGHON, BERTLAND{GK} HOILET OR SEGDSON and upgrade CONQURINE, YANNARIES, RYO, FRIMPONG, LUNSBURY, CAMPBELL and BOTELHO

M villa, Song and whilshire could be an amazing midfield. With arteta, rosicky, ramsey, coqulin and frimpong to support them and Diaby should he stay I think we have a really strong midfield. I wouldn’t mind another creative cm for the team but it would be at someone’s expense. In attack poldolski, rvp and offer plenty of goals and ox, gervinho and Ryo are good back ups.
Again another goal scorer would be welcome but it would be at someone’s expense. I think the best addition could be bold. If he can organise the defence (maybe pat was a little dated?). Then this team is 20 points better.
