Arsenal target interested in Bayern Munich

|

Arsenal target Olivier Giroud has confirmed that his agent has held talks with Bayern Munich over a possible move to the Bavarian club in the summer.

This news is a little strange, especially considering they effectively ruled themselves out of the running for the France international only a month or so ago!

Due to his impressive displays for Montpellier, who currently sit atop of the Ligue 1, the 25-year-old Frenchman has earned rave reviews in his native land, attracting the attention of Arsene Wenger, who has been linked with a summer move for Giroud, all season long.

With the future of Robin van Persie still hanging in the balance, Wenger has targeted Giroud to persuade the Dutchman to remain at the club beyond his existing deal.

However, the Montpellier striker, who has netted 21 in 34 Ligue 1 appearances, is rapidly becoming one of the most prolific forwards on the continent and Arsenal will undoubtedly face competition for his signature at the end of the season.

Out of nowhere it seems, Bayern Munich are now the current frontrunners for Giroud, after the player confirmed that his agent has already spoken to the German giants:

He told Bild:

‘I haven’t spoken with Bayern Munich personally, but my agent has been in touch with them.

‘Bayern Munich are very well known in France because of all the positive experiences other French players have had there. They have all said how well they were received at Bayern, and how happy they were at the club.’

Speaking about his potential partnership with Mario Gomez upfront, Giroud said:

‘It would be conceivable, of course, that the large number of games that Bayern Munich have in various competitions, play Gomez and I took turns. For the top games of course, Gomez would be set at the moment.’

If Wenger is serious about signing Giroud this summer, then I would urge him to move his ARSEnal! We simply can’t allow this guy to slip through our hands!
