Get outta here Juve!

Newly crowned Serie A champions Juventus have expressed an interest in signing Robin van Persie.

With Alessandro Del Piero set to leave the club and reportedly on Arsenal’s radar and Marco Borriello expected to return to Roma at the end of the season, the Turin club are looking to reinforce their attack and have targeted the in-demand Gunner. This was confirmed by Juventus’ general director Giuseppe Marotta who reportedly told Italian website Calciomercato:

‘Van Persie is a great player.

‘He is a complete player and would be useful to any team. But he still has one year left in his contract with Arsenal.

‘We will try to put the icing on the cake this summer but the important thing is that the mix is good.’

Despite expressing an interest in Van Persie, Juve are also closely monitoring Liverpool’s Luis Suarez and Real Madrid forward Gonzalo Higuain:

‘Van Persie, Suarez or Higuain? They are three important players.

‘In fantasy football we could have the three of them playing in the same line-up but in reality, it is different.’

He finished off by saying:

‘If one of them arrives (here) is not because he will be the less talented as other things have to be taken into account, such as the financial aspect.’

All I can say to this is unless they stump up £40-50 million they won’t be seeing Van Persie in their famous black and white striped shirt. And this goes for any other side out there interested in and courting our captain and prized asset.

Hopefully, for the sake of our health and club, Van Persie signs a deal the day after the West Brom game this weekend and puts this matter to bed once and for all.

Even if they come up with a good offer, Van Persie won’t leave Arsenal for Juventus. How is that a good career move for him? They’d be wasting their time if they even make attempts for him or Luis Suarez. Higuain is more feasible.

Only teams I could see Van Persie joining are Barcelona or Real Madrid, but I think he will stay. Man City will make an offer, but can’t see him joining another English club.
