‘99%’ of the Yann M’Vila summer deal to Arsenal is done, according to Le Parisen journalist Julien Laurens.

The French publication claims that the Gunners will sign the 21-year-old for a club record of £17.7 million on a four-year contract after turning down the opportunity to join Milanese giants Inter Milan.

Though the move hasn’t yet been officially finalised, on Monday, Laurens broke the news to his followers, saying:

‘Very busy yesterday working on M’Vila story. Deal 99% done. 22 million euros, 4 years. Great signing for Arsenal and player is delighted.’

He added:

‘At the moment deal is done with Arsenal finishing 3rd, could slightly change if not but he will still sign. He chose Arsenal over Inter Milan.

‘I believe he will be perfect signing for Arsenal. Norwich game showed how team was too exposed at the back. He will be proper holding mid.’

Should the deal go through, it will be Arsene Wenger’s and Arsenal’s second early summer signing, having acquired the services of Lukas Podolski from FC Koln early last week.

Undoubtedly it would be a great signing for the club, one that will strengthen and add depth to our side next season. In addition, it’s good to see Wenger seal some deals before the start of Euro 2012, as prices for players could potentially inflate.

Hopefully there will be more to come as the days roll by.

THATS THE WAY TO GO ABOUT IT PROF, BUT WE STILL NEED A CENTRAL DEFENDER……..

  • John says:

Cant see Wenger buying him with Song, Coquelin and Frimpong in that position.

If he does come in Song needs to be moved on

    • Tris says:

Can’t believe youh would suggest that. Why move song on? Surely we should be building a squad capable of challenging. To do that, we need quality throughout the squad. If we can have both song and m’villa next year, with the youngsters supporting that role, playing in cup games, maybe one out on loan

But like everyone had said, let’s wait until someone signs before we get ahead of ourselves.

Would be a fantastic signing though

Song is an attacking midfielder and if you actually watched a game of football involving Arsenal you’d know that you absolute retard.

Stay off of the internet fuck nuts.

    LATEST NEWS!!! MUST READ!!!!

….. You’re all idiots. Or 99% of you are.

Look Im sorry to burst everyone’s gullable bubble but Arsenal have privately denied a fee has been agreed or that they’ve even bid for him at all.

No fee is in place and this Twitter reporter is talking $hit.

If you take two seconds to actually THINK about it…. Diaby will be fit for next season, as will Wilshere and Frimpong will also be available along with the rest of our midfield.

Wenger stated HIMSELF that his next step in the transfer department would be to focus on the players we already have, particularly those with contracts expiring and those injured and that this would be dealt with AFTER the West Brom game.

He also stated that his main focus at present is ensuring 3rd place so all of his attentions will be drawn to THESE two issues. Not M’Vila or any other transfer in.

Lastly, Wenger is famous for taking forever and a day to wrap up just one transfer target. Seeing as he is also famous for spending months on end trying to haggle over a few million pounds, WHY do you MORONS all suddenly believe he would just smash his record transfer out of the blue.

It doesn’t matter that he has supposedly hunted M’Vila for over a year, he has plenty of time to TRY and drive the price down and in his classily stubborn way, he would do exactly that.

Oh and please don’t try to tell me that Podolski is the rebirth of Wenger and his tactics in the transfer market. It was ONE signing and the only reason he acted quickly was merely a ploy to convince VP to stay and show him he’s doing something to support him as a lone striker.

So please stop with your PATHETIC and childish naiiveness of ‘What a great signing!’ and blah blah blah. You’re all idiots. Get real.

Well said Blackhat83.Also remember that M’Vila is priced at 17million.The most we have EVER paid is 15 million for Arshavin, and that was only a few years ago.Do any of you really think that Scrooge Wenger will break his own transfer record ? Not going to happen. We’ll do our business on the cheap again as we always have.

Scouring the market looking for bargains in French league 1 ( already happening according to news reports ), or out of contract freebies. It’s always been the Wenger way.He doesn’t buy on quality, he looks first and foremost at the price. And the team’s quality suffers as a result.Add to that his tactical incompetence, poor decision making, continually playing his favourites regardless of form ( e.g.Ramsey, Walcott ) and character flaws, and you can see why we continue to stagnate.

  • john verdal says:

i think m’villa to arsenal is in advanced stage with fee already agreed and personal terms to be
sorted out. london evening report is ridiculous
no one from arsenal has spoken about this move been broken and they are trying to make news for
the paper. wenger will not say anything unless the transfer is concluded so please dont listen
    to anybody from london evening.

    • BlackHat83 says:

Oh right but all the other newspapers are completely honest and tell the truth? Wake up and stop being so gullable you moron.

  • john verdal says:

blackhat83 u look like a die hard arsenal hater.
u are so stupid who told u that arsenal dont want
to sign m’vila and they havent even bid for him.
u look like the owner of london evening. only a third grade newspaper will know everything about
private arsenal. you are pathetic how could you
believe that its true when almost all the newspaper around the world and french journalist
themselves have stated that the fee is agreed

    • BlackHat83 says:

      Hahahaha!!! SERIOUSLY???

Wow, what a retard. So I’M an idiot for NOT believing the newspapers????

Let me refresh your memory dumbass.

      Juan Mata
      Eden Hazard
      Jan Vetonghen
      Ryan Babel

All players we had supposedly agreed a fee for and where are they now? What are the papers saying about those players now? There is absolutely NO proof that this deal is done and you’re going on the word of a single French columnist who gives you the information via what?? TWITTER???

All of these papers you’re saying that are reporting the same thing are reporting it BASED ON HIS TWEET. None of the papers said a word about an agreed fee until he Tweeted this.

Journalists are focussed on ONE THING , to get attention and gain readers to whatever form of media they use. The papers that are pushing his tweet are doing the same thing, trying to sell the story to make money.

But I’M the idiot for blindly believing a tweet that all the papers are reprinting for their own gain? You utter fucking spastic. Don’t get all pissy and cry like a little bitch just because someone has come here and dented your stupidly blind eyed beliefs that he has signed.

How about waiting to here from the player or the team themselves.

Let me ask you something, did this tweet have any quotes from the player, the agent or the club itself to back this statement up? NO.

He has tweeted this to get himself some media attention and some interviews on this latest ‘scoop’.

But if you want to just blindly believe everything you read that sounds good as truth and not actually take a second to use your fucking empty head then go right ahead. But calling ME an idiot for not believing some French ‘journalist’ who has to use Twitter to spread his news just shows how truly retarded you really are.

    • Spectrum says:

john verdal – Blackhat83 sounds like a realist who wants only the best for Arsenal football club.Which is why he points out the errors in your thinking. He has a better insight into the way the manager works ( or more appropriately – doesn’t work ) than you or any of the other docile Wenger lovers on here.

Van Persie if he has any sense, will make a career move to a club that has REAL ambition. That, sad to say, is not Arsenal. He wants to win things, Real things, called trophies. Not the imaginary top four one that we’ve been conditioned by Wenger and the board to believe is an achievement.
      ” In Arsene we rust.”

  • Alechenu says:

We need new players actually. But i will not be in a haste to believe all these stories until it happens. We need to offload some players to bring in new capable ones.

  • Arsenal1Again says:

Yawn. The buying of players will not happen until players are sold or had contracts renewed and the injuries are properly assesed. This enables Wenger to see which players he has and which ones he will need. So nothing will be finalised on Monday.

This is a statement on Arsenal.com, though I’ve paraphrased here.

We have a great Summer ahead – we have the Euro’12, The Olympics, possible signings and the return to fitness of Wilshere, Mertesacker and Diaby. We have Bouldy as the new assistant manager and we’ll get to see if Van Persie signs a new contract.

Of course, the entire Summer will go tits up if we don’t beat W.B.A on Sunday.

    • BlackHat83 says:

EXACTLY. Finally someone else on here with a brain who knows how our beloved club operates.

Wenger has stated so many times that our squad is too big for any more signings right now and that we have to wait for players to return and then assess who to let to and who to give new contracts.

THAT and the small matter of winning on Sunday is what he is FOCUSSED on. Not agreeing a fee for another player, especially if he has to smash his record signing fee to do so.

What is wrong with all these retards on here???

  • Theophilus says:

It’ll be good for arsenal to make haste on Mvilla but it’ll better for arsenal to sell RVP out of barclay premier league than any club inside there .
