‘An intelligent and talented player’, but will Wenger sign him?

Arsene Wenger recently praised the professionalism of on loan Chelsea midfielder Yossi Benayoun.

Wenger believes Benayoun’s contribution and attitude has aided Arsenal and insists the Israeli is rediscovering his best form once again.

The Frenchman said:

‘He has been very patient and very professional.

‘He came here with a lack of [playing time] and it took him a while to become really sharp. He kept working and waited for his place.

‘We kept faith in him and put him in for big games because he is an intelligent and talented player. He has a good team attitude.

‘The problem with Yossi was more physical because he is a guy who plays on his sharpness and quick movement. He had a big injury don’t forget and it took him some time to come back.

‘After that, when you do not play big games it takes you time to find the confidence again. Now he is there.’

But, will the Frenchman look to sign him up on a permanent deal at the end of the season? Is he good enough to play for Arsenal week in, week out? Personally, I don’t think so.

I believe we have a lot of wide players already at our disposal who are better than Benayoun and our midfield is packed full of talent, so getting into the side will be difficult for the 31-year-old, should he remain at the club.

Moreover, with Lukas Podolski reportedly on his way to the club in the summer, will we really need Yossi?

Granted he is an experienced head and an intelligent player, but would he want to sit on the bench and get a game here and there? I don’t think so.

Wenger won’t sign him. He’s way down the pecking order, and when you think of Wilshere and possibly M’villa next season – Benayoun won’t even make the bench.

Top player though and so stupid of Chelsea to loan him out whilst playing donkeys like Mikel & Kalou

his done well for us this season
good work by wenger to get him.

but he will be 32, and his not going to get any better he aint been great this season but his done well.

there will be no space in the team for him next season, with a new creative midfiled coming in
    that we deff need.

and with alex playing a bigger role and ryo in the team.

saddly his done well for us
but he will not be needed.

Surely Chelsea also have a say in whether or not Wenger buys him do they not?????
